When i decimate clothes, can i not just upload the original to every lod? When i decimate the clothes and import to studio, it looks disconnected from the body, how will i know in game if my items when decimated the lowest being to 50% that it hasn't obscured?

godzillagirl some meshes more difficult to decimate then another. If the parts of a mesh get disconnected (shoulders, sleeves, sides... so on) in some cases you can remove doubles before decimating (it will give you one solid piece of a mesh) but then after decimating you will need to do edge split there and here where you need to have sharp line (bottom of a skirt... and so on) The other way - before decimating you can un-select areas around the tricky parts, example - unselect whole row of a faces (on both sides) along the line that get disconnected as: shoulder/sleeve line, bottom of a skirt, top... That's what I do.

Also how do i check if everything is in working order?

godzillagirl yes that is should be cool) and you don't have to decimate down to 50% as mesh need to be still presentable on medium lods too. To check - working order... you have to test it in S4Studio, CAS and in game itself.

Decimating is truly important, and while some people don't do it, doesn't mean that it's ok not to. The LODs (or level of detail) controls which of the meshes you imported display at a given distance of the item. When your item is close, you need more polygons to make it look good. But as you get far away with the camera, those details are not noticed and you need less and less polygons as you go further. If you keep the same mesh for all lods. Your computer will have to render unecesary polygons that you won't even notice, therefore slowing the game.

Ok so it's the considerate thing to do, if i post my package file could you guys take a look and tell me if i did ok?
