So recently I was inspired by Peacemaker ic @ peacemaker-ic.tumblr.com/Who wouldn't be his stuff is to die for. On his FAQ page he described what programs he uses to make his stuff. I decided to give it a whirl. I have learned a whole new appreciation for his CC, because it's time consuming. So found some stuff in Scketch-up did the whole export and import into Blender. I kind of used the same steps for converting Sims 3 to Sims 4 for this part and making the shadow mesh. I spent hours laying out my unwrapped UV. Imported it all into S4S, tested in game and it worked! But here's where I'm a bit stumped, the texture. I looked at Peacemaker s files and I see that he bakes them and if I wanted to recolor his stuff I can simply place my color over his texture set my color as Overlay (in photoshop CC17) and I would have a new color with all of his details. So do you just draw the details onto the texture in PS you know like the trim on doors? Or is there something I'm missing. I understand how to do the knobs with actually knob images. When I make CC for CAS I use real photos to create the texture but it doesn't seem like it's the same for Objects. Anyways here's the package file any help, tip and or suggestions would be appreciated. Oh and FYI I know you can add details with normal and spec layers but for the life of me I can't get the hang of making them. lol PackageAlso how do you print screen of the image in S4S?

Package link is a link back to this post. I use a seperate print screen program to take shots, to my knowledge that is the only way.

Thanks, I have tried that there is a baked texture in my package file. But don't I need to have the details on the texture b4 I bake? Because baking what I have there now did nothing for me.

When you bake the texure, you need to export it from Blender as an image as told in the tutorial. Then edit it in a 2d Editor and import it as a diffuse. It won't import with the mesh into Studio with the .blend file.

Yes, but my question is what method do you use or suggest when editing in the 2D editor.

Photo editing isn't exclusive from s4s or sims.. so you can find many tutorials out there to help you out. I don't remember if there's any tutorial specifically for that. But i suggest reading this guide. It's for cas, but the steps are always the same. You have to play with the layers' styles and see which one works better for you.

I use paintshop pro as my image editing software and find seamless textures online for wood trim, fabrics, etc along with the baked texture. If you set your texture layer over top of the baked texture and set it to multiply or overlay it will show the texture but also have the shadows and shading from the baked texture show thru to give the object depth. Sometimes I will do both actually, duplicate the baked image and put it on top of the texture image that has been set to multiply to brighten edges, etc. It's basically just trial and error and the look you're going for. You can also use dodge and burn to highlight areas on your texture image.
