Hello all! I've learned a lot in my first few days of working with modding the Sims 4, and I'm having a blast, but unfortunately I'm stuck. The end goal is to allow a sim to earn a certain amount of simoleons after woohooing, so my question is broken into two parts: Which file should I choose to edit and "Save As" a modded XML file? The problem starts when I do a filter search on the XML files in my computer folders. There are SO MANY FILES with woohoo in the descriptions, name, etc, so I tried to narrow it down to just the "bed woohoo". That in and of itself was a hard task, because I'm not sure which file I should be editing and "saving as" (with the monetary reward included) a modded XML file. I then tried to search for a less common woohoo method (I originally searched for the bed b/c I was trying to make it base game friendly) like "bush woohoo" or "closet woohoo", but I came across the same problem. Basically back to square one. There are so many files related to each woohoo method, and I don't know which one to choose. Not only that, I have no idea how to add the monetary reward. Once I find the file, how to I automatically reward my sim?I tried to look into the XML code of the career files to try and copy/paste the same concept into my file (what ever file that may be), but again there were so many files associated with just one career that it was difficult. Each career also had at least three different files connected to it, and I didn't understand the logic enough of how it worked to replicate it myself. This seems to be the same no matter what action I try to search (eating, sleeping, etc.) Does this mean I'll have to do the same, and make files for other files to call in order to reward my sims for actions they perform? Any amount of help is appreciated - Thank you Queen Panda

Someone89 made one here at S4S, if you want to study it HEREThank you for the head start so now I have a few questions that have been narrowed down a little more focused from my first two. I tested and studied the mod that you sent me but unfortunately both versions didn't work (and I removed all my other mods) so I couldn't see how each file played it's part in running the mod. I did see that they used the "action tuning: loot_simoloeon_small/largeLoan" to do the payment for the woohoo, but I cannot tell where the connection was made to automatically pay the sims for the action. I manually scanned the code (I'm not sure if I have or if there is a program that compares XML files) to check for differences, but the only thing I found were price changes in the aforementioned files. How can I connect the two?

No one has yet to answer my question, and I still haven't found a solution to my problem. Is there anyone out there who can save me?

I'm new to modding myself and I'm not a hundred percent sure I understand your question, but I'll do my best to help.
1. Tools/Create an empty package. This will be your mod and where you'll extract tunings to.
2. Since the mod didn't work and I don't know enough to know why, I think you'll have to start over. First thing is to identify what you want to change (bed woohoo) and how you want to change it (charge). Then to find code to support that. I'll routinely add tunings to a file just to see what they do.
In your case, I'd search for busking/tips to see what code they use to make sims get paid. Then I'd try to add it to a bed woohoo file. Test it out and see what happens.
3. Trial and error method. Stick code in. See if it works. Sometimes I'd have it works in one situation and not another. Search out tunings to try and bridge the gaps. I save multiple versions so I can compare and go back when I break things.
And that's my current modding how-to. Sometimes it works and sometimes well... I'm not sure how to get some of the mods I have in progress working.
I hope that helps some?

I tried it again, but the option to "ask money for woohoo" is not there, so not sure how this mod pays Sims for actions. Back to square one

Code has logic and order, and if I'm combining different tunings with one another, just "stick[ing] code in" doesn't make sense. From what I've seen some tunings are dependent on one another and are separated on purpose with some sort of calling method, but since I have never learned/written code in XML, I can't identify the requirements for a method call or where they are. Your "guess and check" idea is one way to go about it, but I'm not exactly sure what it is I'm guessing and checking.

Leniad Hello again! I unfortunately had to put my project down for a while, but I'm proud to say I'm back on it again, so here's my question. I would like for players to be presented an option that says "Woohoo for money" (preferably under the romance section). Assuming the NPC accepts (I'll decide the rules on that later), the sims will have the woohoo interaction and then the playable sim would get paid (some unknown amount). How would I be able to do this? What is the best possible way to make this happen?
