Hi all! I just spent half the day recoloring a kitchen and the upper cabinets are supposed to be white. But, when I put them on the wall they are at best, a hideous blueish purple, and if the room is enclosed entirely with walls, they are almost black. (This pic is just an L-shaped wall around the counters and cabinets, not a fully enclosed room, I was testing lights to see if it would help and moving positions in the house) Also, If I add more lights, then the countertops on the counters wash out even more and you see no detail at all, and the wood becomes a light beige color Here's an ingame pic: Here's what it SHOULD look like: I would love any help on fixing this or if there's a secret or work around for the retarded lighting and shadows this game has. Thanks in advance for all your help! - Chicklet

I am not positive but I think that the problem is probably the blue lighting tint that is default in The Sims 4. You can try installing Luumiasims's NoBlu lighting mod. This might fix your problem.

Thanks Clay22262, for offering a suggestion, but I already have that mod installed and I have all my lights set to neutral color. I wish it was that simple. I seriously hate some aspects of this game. what was wrong with the lighting and how the windows lit up a room like it did in TS2? Sometimes new and improved is not "Improved"

Chicklet45368 You should try to change shaders setting in warehouse from cabinet to counter, (if your package includes the mesh) - if I remember right, it is under model (click Data) -lods-(edit items)- meshes- (edit items)-Entries-(edit items)-Shader = chose counter instead of cabinet, save, repeat for every model... Someone please correct me if there is more easy way to change shaders.

@xelenn I could kiss you if I could! You are a lifesavor! Now I don't have to scrap this project. TY TY TY!! :D It worked perfectly! Although, I didn't find it in just the Models line, I had to go to Models LOD and then do all your steps. Here's a screenshot of how it looks now! (It's 2 different cabinets (no, your eyes aren't deceiving you about the cabinets being 2 different sizes LOL), one is for taller fridges and one is for normal size fridges, I didn't fix everything as I was just testing to see if this helped. Thanks again! *hugz - Chicklet ***Mods this has been resolved if someone can add that to the title or tell me how to do it myself, thanks!

Chicklet45368 I'm glad it fixed;) recently I had a same struggle with cabinets and I found the solution in one of the forum post. ... you can edit your post yourself, click -edit on your first post, then change the subject line.

A little pointer for you. If you ever need to change shaders on any future projects, do it BEFORE you add any swatches after your first one and the changes will carry over automatically to any new swatches you add. If you add your swatches first then you have to manually alter the shader of them all!
