I have had it. I have been playing sims for years. Since 2. I don't expect each "new" version to be exactly like the ones before. But there are expansion and stuff packs that made the game fun, and more "storylike". The two I would love to see most... Pets and Seasons. But instead they are releasing stuff like bowling (blah) or "eco" living... really???? Eco living? Who cares????? I would not pay for that. Here's a thought, give us the option for open worlds, hell I would even settle for better worlds, maybe a beach theme, Europe theme... SOMETHING. Any how... your thoughts? I just re installed Sims 3 and am debating to remove sime 4 all together. I will relocate my fold just in case I decide to go back to 4, but the 900 some odd hours I have invested seem like a waste. I spend most of my time building houses.

Yes, if you haven't Noticed - by Now....The Sims4 is Produced by LIBERAL/ VEGETARIAN/ CROSSDRESSING/ HIPSTERS. Even typing a Word from their list of, "NO-NO", words will create a Censor module to appear...warning you to be MORE HIPSTER. Ha! No Electric Guitars with Amps...That's NOT HIPSTER. Cars?!? ARE YOU CRAZY!?!...HIPSTERS ARE FRIENDS OF THE OZONE! ROCK/METAL Station....ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!? HIPSTERS CAN'T ENJOY WINE and SPARKLING' WATER WITH THAT MOOSICK!
...could rant more, but why? IT'S NOT HIPSTER TO RANT! Hahahaha!!!

Yeah, jlynn73f, I feel you. The game play just isn't well thought out. I still play for a number of reasons, but 4 definitely leaves so much to be desired. I look at what was made available for 3 and I am so jealous. My son had Pets and played it for a short while - tons of game play potential there though. The releases for 4 seem to just roll out slight variations on a couple of themes over and over again.

Do you guys play with MC Command Center? I wouldn't be still playing this POS game, either, without that mod. Makes a WORLD of difference. (And I used that word deliberately.) If you're interested, the files are on Tumblr, help is at Discord (live chat), and the links to all of that and more are in my sig. Come talk to us. 8-)

But it doesn't make much difference to me. It doesn't replace the incredible content the game ext. and stuff packs Sims 3 had. I have deleted the game off my pc. What a sad waste of a game.

Well, I thought the same as you when the game was released. It took me a while to finally play it and to be honest I don't play it much. I spend most of may time creating sims and outfits.
At release The sims 4 felt like a huge step backwards in comparison to the Sims 3. No in game recolors, no whole town accessible without loading times. It was bad.
After finally trying it out and now playing with tons of CC once more, I see some of the advantages nonetheless. For example, the game loads super fast and you can play around in CAS in seconds, not wait forever for the full list of CC to be loaded so you can use them etc. It's far from perfect but for what I do, it is in fact better that way.
When it comes to playing the game tho, those loading times are stupid. The simple fact not to load your local neighbors houses is simply keeping me out of their houses.. I don't want to have a loading screen everytime I go to a neighbor's house or club or whatever. Hence I mainly stay home with my sims :s. What is the point of the different lods if we don't really use them -_- That particularly sucks I think. Even more cause my computer could easily load the whole neighborhood without lags or anything.

Jlynn73f, I agree with you, even if I finally found my way to this version of the Sims. I misss "Pets" and "Seasons" and like you I miss several features of previous versions. I may be wrong, but I think that Sims 4 was a step backwards compared to Sims 3. No color wheel, no "constrainfloorelevation" (this code was so precious)... But it happened something like a miracle: As I kept wondering if I would leave Sims 4 and go back to Sims 3, I discovered this site... and S4S... and Blender... and tons of wonderful tutorials!!! It was like a key opening the door to Sims 4. I remember the day (2 years ago) I discovered Om's tutorial teaching how to convert Sims 2 objects to Sims 4. First I was lost, but I tried and re-tried and finally got it. It was such a delight that I began to love Sims 4, because I was able to do things that I never did in the previous versions. In fact Sims 4 and Sims 4 Studio are ( on my eyes) inseparable from each other. When a new pack is released I am not greatly interested in the gameplay, but in new objects and furniture: I don't really play, my passion is to build and decorate. It's why I am so grateful to S4S. I can no longer build a sloped driveway, but I can add gorgeous cc that was lost in Sims 3 and is back in Sims 4. Finally, you, all experts on this site, you allowed me to love Sims 4.

In term of gameplay the game didn't bring anything new really, the "emotions" sold as the strong point can still be bypassed and often only lead to annoying behavior. Like being embarrassed and overreacting by crying in a closet or hiding under a blanket. It's funny the first time but then it's just lame.
I still play the game but only to see all the different animations with different objects brought through the careers. Some are really nice and I always wanna check if it works correctly with my "lift a sim from the floor mod". I have to agree that appart from that, there is nothing new in the game. But being a life simulation game I am not sure what we are expecting ^^
