Hello, I have really odd problems with my mesh, when i test my meshes in-game, in CAS the mesh looks fine, but when its in-game and the sim is walking but i am zoomed all the way out, the shadows are blinking really fast like something could be wrong with my custom mesh... I think i did the weight transfers right, but also not sure if i need to create the Lower LODs independently or not. The 2nd problem is that the lower LOD's when i decimate the mesh in blender, i always have gaps at the neck of my shirt. Video of the Shadow Problem: www.sendspace.com/file/iukmaqBlender Files Zip: www.sendspace.com/file/9tbhj0Package File for My Mesh: www.sendspace.com/file/js8v32Package File for Reference Mesh: www.sendspace.com/file/wplvwvI REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP THAT I CAN GET!!!

I cannot tell for the shadow but regarding the lods, there is usually no problem if your mesh doesn't look so good anymore, cause it is part of the point there. The game only uses the other lods when the view is setup quite far like in your video here where it probably uses the lod 1 or 2. The consequence is that as you cannot see any detail on a sim because they are too far, it is ok if the mesh degrades during the decimate.
At least it is as I conceive it. Even if you quickly zoom on a far away sim you only see them very shortly with low LODs before the LOD0 loads.

I would really appreciate it if someone tested the package in-game, other than myself.

Hi! I looked at your mesh both in CAS and in the game, and I haven't noticed the zoom-out thing because as people above me said, the game usually switches LOD meshes pretty quick and the sim is barely visible from that distance anyway. I did notice a seam on top of the shoulder\neck area that is evident in CAS, as well as one in the armpit area. Those seams could be what was causing the shading issue.
The seams can be fixed by selecting two vertices in Edit Mode of Blender that are near and you want to stitch into one, pressing Alt+M, and then selecting one of the options from the dropdown list that appears.

I did that before I did the weight transfer and everything like that. I think its just the Sims lighting... but again I'm not sure. I'm remaking the package to see if it will change anything.

If you don't provide any information on your package it is unlikely people will help. Please provide some screenshots at least so people know what they are supposed to help test.

Have you checked the normal map and shadow textures? Try making them blank in S4S.

I see that you want people to test the top that you are trying to fix in another thread. Please don't make separate threads for stuff like this. I am combining both threads.

I'm really REALLY sorry... I won't make new threads for it. I just would really appreciate the help, and don't want anyone angry with me or something. Also what info should I provide so I can get help...?

Nobody is angry sellygomezwizgrl . It's just confusing in this case. Normally there should be one problem per thread. If you run into the problem with another item, or get different kind of question about this item (like unwrapping uv, texturing etc.) it's better to create another thread.

hi! I'm sorry but i'm watching the video and i don't see anything wrong.. nor any shadow. And as Zelrish pointed out, there's nothing wrong about the lower lod being a little "broken".. if that's what it means to have less polygons. The mesh should resemble the highest lod at least in shape, but it's perfectly fine since it's only viewable when zoomed out.

inabadromance can you test my package in-game and let me know if anything is wrong with it?

I saw the item both in CAS and in game (when zoomed out) and i don't see that shadow you mention at all.. i don't really see anything. The only thing that happens is that your mesh has wholes in the body part. I recommend deleting all the body and re append the EA's original body again.
