I've been trying to learn how to create meshes but every time I do, the finger is always broken when I put my mesh on a sim. How do I fix this? imgur.com/4dVFBMa

The problem you're facing is due to the groups not matching EA's original groups. Some meshes are divided quite.. randomly, so i suggest cloning another short dress as a base that is divided into top, and legs groups. That's much easier to work with since you don't have a group particularly of one finger flying around.
In short, clone another short dress and export its mesh. Check that the groups and cut numbers match your mesh exactly.
Also, you MUST NOT edit the body uv in any form. You CAN'T move the legs/arms/neck UV, or you'll face what you're seeing in your picture.
