Aaaaand finally EA released a trailer to GP "Parenthood". What do you think? Is it something that you've been looking for, or it left you disappointed? Post in Thesims.com blog

I am underwhelmed, let's say it this way. While having new activities for kids is good, it's still lacking gameplay, imo. I expected to see swings, because nothing says more "childhood" than swings, but no. Every game pack EA has been adding something new like spa's, new outdoor location, restaurants, vampires. So this GP is a bit underwhelming. But I hope it's just a first impression.

Its one game pack I'm not excited for and have you read some of the comments, I want to burn those people in arcane fire, lol, like "finally blah blah enough with the single party young adult game play" its just extremely rude and uncalled for. Anyway back on topic, its a nice looking game pack but I've never been interested in family game play personally, I just wonder what their sales will be like with this pack, it would be interesting to see if those that are complaining and acting inappropriately are in the majority or minority it would be hilarious if it was the minority because then they would have egg all over their face and ea would go back to doing its own thing lol

I sure don't wanna get that. I have zero interest in the family stuff. Not my style. And mostly this feels like something that should have been in the game since day 1. But hey, that's video games nowadays : you get a half game and have to pay dlc's to get the rest of what you should have had from the beginning.

I guess we have to wait and see, but from the trailer, this looks like more trapped in the house with nowhere to go type stuff. This burping at the table thing seems like one of those things we're all going to get sick of seeing because it's funny once but the 500th time is just not so funny anymore. It's the kind of thing I'm already planning to mod out of my game :P

No wonder they wanna trap us in the house considering we go through loading times everytime we do anything else

I already find burping annoying.

I find the results of this poll very interesting to say the least, it allows me to contemplate weather this expansion is unpopular on this forum because a) people don't care for family play that much, or b) people care for family play but find this game pack lacklustre.

I don't play kids due to the homework and the eating times, I always feel like they are over worked and unplayed if you get what I mean? But the science stuff looks cool (dammit). I remember the burping in Sims 2, the only one who get away with it every time was Lazlow. I may get it for the objects because I'm sad and will want to play with the science stuff. That said I didn't, and have no plans to buy the toddler SP I've never seen a toddler in my game

i enjoy playing the sims with families, but this is seriously underwhelming. i'd prefer it to be included in an expansion, maybe something like how they did in the sims 3 with generations. on it's own i feel like it's trash.

I find it quite funny because... i'm always the negative one, the bitchy and demanding one that is the first to complain. But, i found the trailer really nice. I'm even excited about it, hence the single vote up there haha. I really liked the clutter items, they look nice and those are always welcome. I can see the improvement.. and how they are trying to add more detail to the game. Though i'm still annoyed about those two identical shelves in the bowling pack. One with shoes and the other without. Like, what.. seriously?. Why not give decorative shoes. Anyway, i also liked the experiments for school... personally it gives me a lot of material for my story. So i'm pleased.
My only complain, is that they haven't fixed or addressed the fact that teens (which are just a label) still have the same height as adults. It was an awful decision from day 1 that they should fix. Or add another age stage in between.

Or add another age stage in between. Well, they obviously went for it to save them a ton of work with interactions/animations. If they change the height they have to rework absolutely all the animations in the game to adapt them to the height. On one hand it is a lot of work and on the other it's kinda their fcking job...

I think the height of teens may be an artifact of the game's original conception as an online-only game with one or two life stages that was rushed into a not-online format with multiple life stages after the rocky reception of Sim City's online format. They've been trying to recuperate from that rush since the game launched.

I'm looking forward to it. Okay, I had wanted Strollers for the Toddlers, bunk beds and more for the playgrounds like swing, slide and sandbox. But what I have seen so far, I also like. I'll definitely buy it. It may not be everybody's taste, so it's good such topics are not packed into big EP's and you buy loads of stuff do you not want, just to get other features that you can use well , not to be missed.
