So im trying to create a recolor with a black base and a streak of pink highlight on one of the stock hair styles and this is what im getting. Is there a way to eliminate that pink streak on the back of her head? Here's the swatch im using for refrence.

You'll need to take a look at the uv map for the hair to figure out where that back part is on the texture, and then edit your recolour so that part isn't coloured in.

Can you possibly point me in the right direction for this. I found a uv1 tutorial but it looks geared towards skin tone it looked like :/

You need to look at the uv_0 (sorry; I should've specified that). I would suggest turning on uv sync in blender, selecting the part of the hair you do want coloured in on the mesh, and then exporting the uv map for that area. You can then place the map in a layer on top of your texture in whatever program you're using and just colour in that section. (Sorry if this doesn't make a whole lot of sense; I'm a bit tired.) There should be a recolouring tutorial out there that covers how to do this, but I couldn't pull any up when I searched.

You have to edit the UV map. Select that part of the UV and move it somewhere else with the black texture or find the uv for the part which you want yo make pink and move it away from the others.
