I am trying to recolour the sweetheart top but I keep on having this horrible seam. So here's what I am trying to do: - I want the original shadows to show so I am using a levels layer in photoshop. I did this on a skirt I am recolouring and it looks good: i.imgur.com/Yu2ulJ4.png- I want my top pattern to have same colour as the skirt

hi! mmmm.. sounds to me like a dds issue. Have you tried saving as png instead? (you'd have to create the transparency parts on your own by deleting the background before saving)
You can also play with the shadow effect on the layer by making it less blurry.

How I wish it was a dds problem. But the problem stays even when using a png file.

I figured it out. Turns out the red layer was beneath a b&w and that caused to seam to show up like that.
