I'm not exactly sure if it was your blender file or package file that was broken somehow, or it could be both. Here's how I fixed it. - Clone a new package. I cloned a pair of earrings.
- Export the mesh from the new package.
- Append your mesh 's4studio_mesh_1' from 01.blend in your attachment above.
- Select 's4studio_mesh_1' of the earrings and delete all vertices in edit mode.
- Select your mesh and the empty s4studio_mesh_1 mesh of the earrings and join two meshes into one.
- Save the blender file and import it to the earring package.
- Import your diffuse map and change category to hat.
I'd suggest you redo a weight transfer as your mesh doesn't move with the neck properly. There's some clipping from the screenshot below.

You can clone the top and head mesh under rig tree as a reference to transfer the weight. Here're the steps: 1. Open rig tree and click the arrow icons for top and head mesh to allow you select them. 2. Select head and press Shift+D to duplicate the mesh. It should create a mesh called 'head.001'. Do the same for the top mesh which creates 'top.001'. 3. Join head.001 and top.001. 4. Select your mesh and delete all vertex groups to ensure a clean transfer. I'm not sure if this step is necessary but I always do this. 5. Transfer weight from the joined mesh of head.001 and top.001 to your mesh by following this tutorial. sims4studio.com/thread/81/weight-transfer-blenderThis should fix it.

Did you follow the exact steps? It should work if you did. What version of blender are you using?

Maybe try using 2.70 for weight transfer, which was what I used.
