My game is starting to lag a bit... I have tons and tons of CC that I wasn't using, and have my Sim neighborhood just the way I want it, (until I change my mind AGAIN, lol) so I spent the afternoon cleaning out unused CC. Anyone else do the same from time to time?

Not really. I typically just start a whole new game.
One thing I do that is really helpful is merge cc though. It very noticeably improves performance even when it's just a portion of total cc.

jlynn73f and Merry927, you scare me ! ! When I launch the game, it takes 15 minutes. I have 8,14 GB of cc and tons of gorgeous stuff that I will download and a lot of cc that I have downloaded and not yet installed... You are right, merging is probably the best thing to do, but then it will be difficult to uninstall an object. I hesitate...

I love CC! Don't let me scare you! CC away! I just had a lot of Living room and Kitchen sets that I was not using anything from. No point in having it in my game. But I still have tons, TONS, I kept. Especially clothes, makeup and hair.

mehrlicht Always make sure you put the individual items you merge in a separate folder just in case. It may be a little bit off a pain to delete the merged package and remerge the individual packages that are still wanted if needed, but it isn't in the realm of scary that way. Also the procedure itself is very simple with S4S. Seriously, it makes a huge noticeable difference.

Thank you, jlynn73f and Merry927.Sorry for replying so late (a computer issue...!) I was building a castle and it is now nearly finished. Then I'll follow your advices and merge the cc (my fabulous treasure). Of course with a strong back up before ... No doubt that you are right: My Sims 3 game ( merged packages) has even more cc than Sims 4 and it loads much faster. I was hesitating and you encouraged me: It is exactly what I needed. A big THANK YOU

I am so happy that I need to share... I followed your advices and have merged the biggest part of my cc. It took less time than I thought and it worked fine. Current situation: When I turn the pc on and launch the game, it takes 6-7 minutes to load. If I leave the game and relaunch it it takes about 4 minutes. Before the cc was merged it took at least 15 minutes...! Thank you for encouraging me and, of course, another big Thank you for the amazing S4S and all the fabulous Tools

Merging helps a lot! But apart from that, I actually sort out cc from time to time :D
