I haven't been able to find a good tutorial explaining how to edit the default world terrain. I'm sure replacing the trees and flora that you use on lots would be easy, but how do you replace the textures of the default terrain and un-editable flora?

Hi! the terrain textures have to be searched for on the clientfullbuild packages inside the client folder of the game. There's many that already have done this, so you can use their packages to know exactly the string numbers of the textures. If you know exactly what world you want to replace then it would be easier to do a google search with the name and terrain default replacement.
As for the plants, all the plants can be found on the catalog. (the ones that are not there then are only visible when selecting the debug catalog).

Hi @eiyr, just wanted to add that you can search for terrain resources on official TheSims forum. Simgurumodsquad has provided the list of them here and here. What I did is created an empty .package, ran Game file cruiser and searched DST resource by instance number. When I found needed DST I pressed "include in current .package" and saved. This way you create an override.
