I'm working on converting some TS3 items into TS4. So far, I'm having a few issues. With normal items, like chairs and such, it's going fine! But, when I get to electronics, I can't figure out how to get the screens to work and appear. There's just a hole where the screen would go. And my second issue I'm having is when I try to convert debug items. I'd like to convert the dining dumpster, but there's no texture to extract, so I'm a little stuck. If anyone has any insight into either issue, and can walk me through it, I'd love them for all eternity. I'm working on a small project with my friend and it's a project that is very special to us, and I don't want to let her down.

Hi xwafflesx, Esmeralda briefly discussed TS3 images in her tutorial HERE. Most TS3 items did not have a diffuse image because the game had a design tool that applied pre-made textures to the mesh. Many have images that you can use to make your own diffuse images, but you'll need to do some work in your 2D editor to texture the item for Sims 4. As far as the electronics item goes, it would probably be best to post your work in progress so someone can take a look.

I'll have to get some wip shots when I try another one. I'm a little burnt out on the electronics atm because of the failures. BUT, I have to go and fix them soon.

Sims 4 TVs/computers contain a plane that is used as the screen. You can clone an object with a screen, delete everything but the screen, and then paste in your own mesh and move the screen to the correct location and scale it to fit. Basically, just transplant the existing screen on to your object. It's the easiest way I know of.
