I'm assuming when you say Studio is dumping your project files into an unwanted folder that you're talking about the folder Studio is saving your .package into when you clone something to start a project. If this is incorrect could you explain a little more what you're doing when this unwanted result occurs? If you're talking about where Studio is saving a .package when you clone something this is something you specify when you save the .package. This save step occurs when you click the Next button after having selected something to clone from the thumbnail list page. When you click the Next button a pop up box will appear. This is the pop up box where you name your .package. This pop up box also serves as a navigation box and it can be used to navigate to the location where you want to save your .package. It will save the .package anywhere you choose to save it. It will not break any finding ability to choose a location other than the one that is there when the box first appears. It is not defined like the Blender and game paths are defined so that creators can choose their own organization method for their projects. Many people prefer to set up a separate project folder for each project and this system allows for that or any other organization method the creator chooses What will cause issues is if you attempt to move a .package while it is open in Studio. You will not notice that there's an issue immediately but when you try to save Studio will ask you to return the .package to the location where it was before it will save it. In this way Studio is much like any other program, including Windows, in that it will not allow something that it is actively using to be moved while it is still using it. First paragraph is dead on, apologies for the "negative" tone (dumping...) in my phrasing. It *was* an "unwanted result" but I wasn't ready to come to blows with S4S over it or anything. Second paragraph, bolded part is where I had lost it, but I've got it now. Last paragraph, THAT's gold... I knew there was something to pay attention to regarding saving packages but I couldn't remember what the "special" part of it was... you nailed it for me. Pretty cool you answered a question I wasn't even sure how to ask, yet, orangemittens . Thanks for all you do... to OM and *all* the wonderfully helpful people here! Me and S4S may not be new best friends yet ... but even though I'm still kinda hanging out in the frustration zone there ("getting to know you" phase), overall I am having a blast learning more about the ins & outs of package creation/editing. Cool stuff!! I haven't played the GAME in days, been too busy playing with stuff FOR the game. LOL!

Hi willylibertine, welcome to Studio forums. The reason Studio doesn't support 2.75 is because Blender updates quite frequently and, when it does, it often does not include backward compatibility with addons made for previous versions. Such is the case for 2.75. We beta tested a Studio version that worked with 2.75 and it did not go well. Updating Studio for compatibility with it will take a lot of time and we chose to instead remove that compatibility and add new features instead. Once Studio has more of the features everyone wants then we can focus on updating for Blender's update. In the meantime you can use 2.75 out of a folder and transition your .blends to the game through 2.70 installed on your computer Replying to this post instead of mine because I liked that one line. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" (for Blender ppl.) LOL! But, "you know engineers, they love to change things!" Gratuitous Star Trek quote. (We're all engineers, s4s is our train, right?) Thanks, fuyaya and orangemittens . Figured it out after Fuyaya's post, but I got hit by a Sleep NOW wave and crashed before I could say thanks to you both. Happy Holidays!

From my girlfriend's game. Hey, we should hook him up with Bachelorette #2 from my trio above... she could give him her purple socks. Seriously, what WOULD a woman wear that split-level 2-tone skirt with? I have tried it with everything I had (pre this week's download binge here, I mean)... NONE of what's been here looks good with that.

Is it possible to have 2 packages open with Studio at the same time? For comparison?
Chasing an invisible thumbnail on a recolor, I have its mesh in another package, but the 2nd set isn't showing the item picture in the CAS "shirts" window. The shirts show up fine on the sim, it's only the thumbnail shots that are invisible.
I was hoping to open both Warehouse tabs to see what's different/missing (just for my own interest), but that isn't working.
I've asked the creator about the 2 files, just covering bases by also asking if Studio has multi-package support, or if it's one per instance. Thanks!

I can't decide if this is a valid question or not, so I'm going for it. I've LOOKED for an answer (probably in places I shouldn't have, too...), so here's what I want to know: S4S is dumping my project files into C:/Users/Egw (Win10 if that matters?), and I would MUCH rather have those files directed into /Documents/Projects (somewhere closer to my game stuff). I *never* use that Users folder, but I live in /Documents. I saw where the blender path and the other 2 paths are picked up by S4S, but if there's somewhere to change the file output path... it's eluding me. If it can be done, please tell me how? Thanks. Edit, much later, just to close this out... I watched LexiconLuthor 's video tutorial again, saw HER using different folders, so I asked how. "Dynamic pathing" (my term, I don't know if that's what it's really called). Collateral knowledge gleaned from something I watched for learning something else. Win-win! S4S goes with the last folder you used. I was just afraid if I changed that to point it somewhere else, it might break some "finding" ability or something. (I worry about the weirdest things, sometimes.) And I was looking for a set path place to do it like the blender and game paths are defined... it is so NOT there! LOL (Because it doesn't need to be.) But, this excellent program is nowhere NEAR as delicate at Sims4, so now that I have a clue, I'm good... well, better, anyway. I still don't have a studio up or anything I'd put in one... but, I'm doing MUCH better than I was earlier this week regarding all things S4S. WIP. Hope everybody who celebrated Thanksgiving had a good one.

A bit off topic maybe...but PlasticBox is a "She" as far as I know :P No kidding? Wow. Things you learn in unexpected places. I had no idea! Since we're OT anyway, quick note that I'm taking a small, headache-induced break from cc-palooza. I'll get back into it when that calms down. Bakie and I now return you to the regularly-scheduled "Looking for language translators" thread.

Love this amazing place already, but there's one TINY little function I'm missing, and would *love* to see added to pages here...
Back to Top button (like on officials)...
I couldn't decide if there was a better place to ask for this, so, General it is.
If there IS a "Forum Feedback" area (also like on officials)... pointer, please? Thanks!
I don't like feeling like I'm in the wrong place. Already had one post moved (not a big thing, but, it was a Thing, to me, oops!)... I'd *like* for you to think I'm smarter than that. LOL!
Edit: found the Back to Top choice under the cog wheel, I didn't know that was there...
I was really talking about the page-bottom type link offered on official forums, though, so I'm gonna leave this up for a yea or nay from the powers that be.

German/American English - There are a lot of Germans who speak the correct Oxford English, (Which drives me nutts.); and a lot of Germans automatically ASSUME that i am from England because of my Last name. I have never been to England, I do not worship any Queen...ha! The German translations of Movies, (Particularly' the American SLANG), Funny stuff...almost Priceless... ;°) As a last resort, happy to help, if need be.... Off topic, av question... who IS that in your av, @stevenssimsstuff ? Made me think of Ren and Stimpy... am I close? I'll be around, fascinating topic on its own, *and* I had the idea that this would be a good "hey there" spot for me to gauge who might be interested in doing MC translations, too. Using PMs for my thing, I won't clutter this thread with that. But of course, for an av question... I will derail it for a minute. LOL!

Hey all if anyone knows Russian and could help out with translation please let me know You might try KuriXarya at MTS, he (?) does the Russian translations for MC. Whole different animal here, I know, but it wouldn't hurt to ask, if you're up for it. If they've got an account here, too, even better. I haven't looked.
