Hey y'all! I'm a huge fan of the show Orphan Black and I've been messing around with creating recolors and mods to make sim versions of the clones. I realized that I've created quite a bit of content that other people might want as well. I thought I'd post some pictures here and see what people think! Let me know if the CC and the household is something you think I should post for download~ I created a trait that gives off moodlets, such as when the clones are in close proximity: A few clone swaps (Sarah dressed as Cosima, Cosima as Alison, etc.): Let me know what you think! The trait needs a few finishing touches, but I made/edited several CAS items that I could use in some sort of Orphan Black set. I'd also like to upload the household to the gallery. (Sidenote: A few of these recolors are additional swatches of other people's cc. I'll contact the creators to obtain permission to upload if I end up doing so.)

Thank you guys so much for your support and your kind words! As much as I would like to continue this mod, Nyx has released an amazing mermaid lifestate mod that is essentially everything I hoped to turn this project into. I really recommend checking it out once it's fixed for the update! So, I've decided I will be retiring this trait as of now. I'll update the file if I fix or adjust anything drastically, but if a game update breaks the mod, I will likely not take the time to fix it. Hopefully you guys will see some other stuff from me in the future, though! Thank you all again for your support!

Thanks, same to you! Yeah, MermanSimmer's creations are amazing. Maybe at some point, we can all collaborate on our projects! I'd be honored to collaborate EDIT: Sorry, When you asked to collaberate I thought you meant on future projects, in this case I'm feeling very sorry to say that I feel that I need to complete this mod by myself to learn as much as I can about modding. Even because my mod needs just some last features. That's what I meant! Haha. I feel like I need all the practice I can get as well. It's taken me a while, but I feel like I've made a lot of progress on learning how to read/write XML.

Do you know that I'm making the same project? Merman simmer helped by consenting me to use his tails and scales, and I had the same idea of a hypnotizing song! Good luck with your project Thanks, same to you! Yeah, MermanSimmer's creations are amazing. Maybe at some point, we can all collaborate on our projects!

I have a very modest update for you guys! I've updated the link from my earlier post. I completely rebuilt the trait from scratch, as I created the original with Zerbu's old constructor and felt this would help me to keep the trait as up-to-date as possible. This means you'll have to reassign the trait to your pre-existing mermaids because it uses new resources. With that, I implemented a moodlet that I coded in the original that I FINALLY got to work. When mermaids are in their swimwear and in a pool, they will receive a moodlet from being in their "natural form". I've made it so that mermaids gain hygiene while swimming as well. Human sims that are nearby while a mermaid is in their swimwear will also take notice of them. Other than that, I've sort of reworked the way buffs are applied when a sim is moonstruck and restricted the subsequent effects to the mermaid trait. Once again, I'm hoping to expand on this more as time goes on, or if someone wishes to lend their time and assist me in areas I'm not skilled in. Please let me know if you find anything wrong or if you have any ideas! I'm open to suggestions!

I've updated the Mermaid trait for the current patch! No new features, unfortunately. But now the trait actually shows up in CAS! Go ahead and use the same link from my earlier post to download the updated version~ I have a request, is it possible to make this into a reward points or buyable trait? Because if when I put mermaid in CAS random NPCs became mermaids XD as trait and was weirdddd. But I changed some tuning for personal use and put a reward trait and now only my sim has it. But I can only access it through cheatsiminfo add trait menu XD Thank you! Is so cool! I'll definitely look into that! I'm actually working on rebuilding the trait from scratch, exactly the way it is, but more optimized since I've learned a bit more about modding. I'll post an update as soon as I can!

I'd just like to offer a little update and say that I'm still researching mod creation, but I'm still very interested in working on this project. It might take a while on my own, but I'll continue to improve it as I learn more!

Okay, so there's a bit of a problem with the trait. It doesn't appear in CAS, but it will show up in the trait list with this mod. I'm hoping to fix this asap. Other than that, the trait functions properly. Almost every singing action will become a siren call, their voice has a chorus effect, and their legs will emit a teal glow. If your mermaid has less than half of their hygiene need (which I'm treating as if its a hydration motive for now), they have a good chance of catching a special virus that will make their voice sound awful and irritate everyone near them. While the moon is out, mermaids are at risk of becoming Moonstruck, but are safe when indoors. Let me know if everything works correctly as well as if things happen too often/not enough. Also, anything you liked or didn't like. Mermaid Trait

Awesome! If you’d like to test the trait, that would be really helpful. It functions almost exactly like I intended, but I’ve had a few hiccups. Do you have experience with coding? If so, that would also be very helpful. I really want to test. Unfortunately I can not help with codes (I am a total noob), but I can help with animations and tails for the mod No problem! I'm starting to realize I may be a bit ambitious for my current skill level, but I'd like to perfect what I have right now at least. If someone more skilled would like to jump in to assist, that would be amazing. Lol. Anyway, I just have to go over a few things, then I'll post a link to the trait so you can test it. Thank you for your help!

Hey all! I'm fairly new to using threads to ask for help, so please forgive any lack of etiquette. I've been sort of casually working on a simple trait that I thought would be cool to use in conjunction with MermanSimmer's tail creations. It became a bit more of a project than I intended and I really would like to expand it. I created a "Mermaid" trait as a very watered-down lifestate like a vampire or an alien. They always have a subtle blue glow from the waist down, which I see as being a better alternative to the leg scales from ts3. Currently, Mermaids have a "power", so to speak, where if they're performing a singing interaction, they'll emit a cool visual effect and any non-Mermaids nearby will become very flirty, their romance will increase faster, and they will increase creative skills at a faster rate. This is based on a siren/muse type of ability. Also, I incorporated an H2O-esque piece of lore by giving Mermaids a weakness to moonlight. If they are outside between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am, there's a chance of them gaining a strong dazed moodlet from being under the moon. I thought this would be a cool equivalent to a vampire's sunlight weakness. They also have a chance of getting a unique flu-like sickness that messes with their siren voice. So basically, I've slowly been trying to expand it and I've hit a block where I need some help or even just advice. My hope is to possibly create a moodlet that is added when a mermaid is swimming or bathing and applies MermanSimmer's tail CAS part (with his permission, of course), clone the Plantsim water motive and rename it to "hydration", give Mermaids the ability to absorb water puddles to fulfill the hydration motive, and maybe create a new interaction using the singing animation that acts as a better siren call. Any assistance would be extremely appreciated and any links to tutorials would be very helpful! Thanks!

As unfortunate as this is, I wish you the best in your future projects. What you've created so far is still a great mod, even if it is unfinished. Like I've said before, I'd love to see what you can accomplish in TS3 and will continue to watch for your content. Where do you plan to post your mods if you end up making any?

Ohhh, okay. Is it possible for me to use both without conflict as long as I don't have any Arcanists learn spells from the altar? Or will they conflict even just by being in my mods folder together? I love the altar object and the versatility it gives me.

I seem to be having a problem. It seems as though my sims randomly have the pie menu for spells. Sometimes it works perfectly and I have the option to use the spells from all the different circles and sometimes the "cast spell" pie menu doesn't even show up. I'm using this mod as well as your first "Art of Magic" altar mod and the sorcerer mod by Triplis. I noticed this mod and your first one share the same pie menu STBL resource. Could that be causing a conflict?
