Ha ha, I've never bothered with avatars before but I actually like the sims in S4, they make me want to play with them-I only really built in S2 with very little actual playing. Glad you like it Thanks for the plate info, I'm going to go looking at them again today-only this time I'll remember to hit over-ride instead of new mesh when trying to DR. I don't know how many times I cloned a coffee cup yesterday before I realised my mistake. Thanks again.

I've only noticed it happening in quick reply, at first I thought I was just being forgetful in some way, and no, as far as I know the posts don't ever show up. I'm grateful for your having a look at the plates, thanks.

Before I answer that, are there issues with using the quick reply feature here on the forum? I ask because I left an answer here and an error report and both are missing this morning. I possibly left the forum too quickly or something.
Defaulting though, the plate I cloned had plate and generic in the title and I thought that was maybe the one that needed to change. I only changed the texture but it's obviously the one used for all dirty plates, which seems to when the first forkful is removed from the plate. I did the single spaghetti serving after that and it seemed to confirm I'll need to do them all. Is there anything in the file that would point to it being a "master" type object. I thought the terrariums were individual as they are all there in debug.
Thanks again.

Hello forum,
I'm asking the above question because I'm a wee bit confused about the things that are associated with each other.
I've been raking about the debug objects for a wee while and was quite daunted with the amount of individual objects that need changing. The first thing I tried was changing the texture of the plates, I picked the generic plate thinking that every plate would change but it didn't, every dirty plate took on the texture but made uneaten single dishes were default white. I think I then changed one single serving of something or other but gave up after that because I couldn't be bothered recolouring them all.
Then today, as I really love those Will-O-The-Wisps and have one adorning my lot, I decided to replace the terrarium with a big bottle. I cloned that then switched the meshes and lo and behold, every terrarium has been changed. In theory this is not a problem and saves me a lot of work but I'm confused by the difference-if I replaced the mesh for the plate as well as the texture would they all take on the change?
All info greatly appreciated.

motherof70, for an object if you want to have an item that has animation based on a joint you need to clone something that has that animation already. If you do this the joints will be present on the list. I'm fairly certain I did that, I have a feeling I was working on a bath tub and then imported the obj file and no matter what I clicked on, each part showed the correct colour of joint and the name where the list should be, but only that joint name. That's why I asked if there was a setting I was missing, the joints are there but only individually. I ended up exporting the meshes from Milkshape, already jointed, then importing into Blender and the joints were retained and for the first time I have a proper fully functioning bath-Yay! Mucked it up again with some tuning but that's another issue. Anyway, I'm learning loads all the time, thanks for your patience.

With help from you guys I've made another Tarox toilet, without unnecessary modern functions, like flushing, pregnancy testing etc. If you're interested, go HERE

Using the tutorials here I've managed to suss out how to find out where the joints should be listed but I'm only finding the joint that is assigned to that particular mesh piece, so my imports have no list there to assign them to. It's an object I'm making but the process should be the same I would have thought. Maybe I don't have some box ticked in Blender? I'm regularly mucking up the layout of Blender. Any ideas?

I don't pay for my Box account but it does tell me the number of DLs I've had when I go into the folder it's kept in, rather than the link page-if that makes sense.

I recently started using my blog, the google one, and all the stats are there if you want to see how many visits you've had, where they came from geographicaly, which site referred visitors and even their operating system. I use Box for hosting files and from there you can see how many DLs you've had. They used to send daily emails too but that seems to have stopped. Regarding putting the word out, I posted one link here in this forum and one of the finds sites had it up pretty quickly. I found that surprising but pleasantly so.

Thanks for your reply. I'll have look around the CAS tutorials to see what I can glean from there. If the numbering isn't an issue then I'm hoping the joints thing will solve it. Thanks again...and especially for the ability to default replace objects with S4S I can really make the game my own with that.

Hi,
I can't use the search box for some reason, tells me there's no connection, so if this is written up some where apologies if I've missed it but I'm hoping you can show me the way. I'm using a slightly more complicated mesh, a TSM>TS2 bath tub and it has multiple groups and 2 joints. I need help in reordering the cut numbers, if I'm right they should read numerically from top to bottom. Also how do I assign joints when there are more than one?
Thanks for your time

Hi everyone, My thing is creating a medieval/Pratchett inspired game and I have put my first converted default replacement on the open market. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but if a medieval broom is any good to you instead of that horrible mop, have a look here
