the package you cloned has three cuts and your mesh only has one. you can either fix this by creating an additional two cuts to your blend file or by cloning a new package. you can still use the same reference mesh; just create a new package with something that has one cut. the yfTop_Camisole top is what i usually use when my files have one cut. i also noticed that your shirt's cut number is 0002. if you're going to clone a new package that only has one cut, you need to change this number to 0000. i opened up the camisole file you recommended, and appended my top in, changed the cut number back to 0000 and deleted the camisole. i saved, then tried to import the mesh back into the camisole one. no change again. :( whyyyyy.

how would I go about adding 2 more cuts? and does this need to be in the same weird places as my ref mesh?

Hello monas , that last link is exactly what I've been following but it doesn't really go into any detail on texturing. I've read that using real world textures for clothing cc (like for jeans) is what makes that 'alpha' effect, which is the opposite of what I want. (rofl) I was just thinking, make a blank colour png in all the colours I need and import it as the texture, but then it would come out to flat looking.... CC making is hard. :'(

are you sure it's not because of the cut number? please look at this tutorial for more information about cuts. Hi, the cut number was initially wrong. Unlike the tutorial, mine is a top that only had one mesh part and so I only had to change one cut number. This made no difference though. The mesh still won’t import into S4S. Any other suggestions?

Hi, I’m just getting into cc making and most tutorials I’ve seen ended at a completed mesh with no details on how to add colour/textures/swatches to the item. I specifically want my creations to be Maxis Match styled. Can someone link me to a tutorial (or even write on if there’s high demand!) on how to extract and use EA textures? Thank you!

Hi, hopefully someone can help me. By the end of this tutorial my top has been decimated twice as I read this was a reason for the mesh not importing back into S4S. It now has around 7,000 polys but still doesn't show up in S4S. It looks REALLY low poly in Blender and I don't know if that's how it's really going to look, but I hope not. I'll try to attach a pic. And here's what it is meant to look like:

Wouldn't the bigger version be the one that is displayed on their mood when you click on them in live mode? Or maybe the thumbnails when you edit the household (or transfer) before going into CAS. I'm not sure. I think I've found where the bigger image is from. I think it's from notifications about sims. It seems to be a little larger. I'm not really sure haha. I guess I have to enter the game, get a random sim to somehow have a notification, and see if the bigger image is generated. I don't how I'll do this but I'll try! Thanks for the help.

I did post this somewhere else, I'm new here and don't really know where a post like this is meant to go, sorry! Anyways, This is just a quick question about using S4S. I use it to extract my Sims' thumbnail images. The game generates two sizes - 38 by 38px and 76 by 76px. I would prefer the larger size but after searching through my localthumbnailcache, I'm mainly getting small ones. I've been told to get the game to generate these thumbnails by going through Sims' family trees, but which other in game feature is generating these larger versions? I'll attach a picture with the pose I'm looking for just in case I haven't made it clear yet. It's the kind of turned to the left, no emotion pose XD. Small version:
Bigger version (I want more like this):
If you can help, thank you so much because this little thing is driving me crazy!

My question probably doesn't belong here but I wasn't sure where to put it, sorry. :-[ I'm using the mac open beta version of this.
The tutorial on the first page of this thread mentions pressing the MY CC button on the main homepage after opening the program. The mac version doesn't have this, at least mine doesn't, so I'm a bit stuck... I haven't seen anyone else complain about this issue so I guess there is a way around it, I'm just too blind to see it. Help anyone?
