emmamerrills, fireidarThere is a program which would work really well with Sims4studio - it is called Sims 4 Tray importer. You create a sim or house with whatever you don't like - (It DOES not work with build/buy content which cannot be placed (take pics of it while in-game to research with sims 4 studio) - SAVE to your library (you can then bulldoze the lot in-game AFTER you have saved to your library). Exit your game and run Sims 4 Tray importer. You will then be able to see what cc is attached to a particular sim (even if it has no mesh - it will tell you what it is) so you can either delete or find the mesh. You can also use to cull lots and households. luniversims.com/files/file/73-sims-4-tray-importer/used in conjunction with Sims 4 studio, these tools are invaluable.

I just saw this..... I have a fairly good computer, but it tends to slow down once I hit above 15Gb of custom content. On top of that, you have saves and tray file.
Merging files is really a bad idea in sims 4. Why? For one, patches and packs make content and mods unusable in an instant, and that will make for a nasty headache for you as you try to figure out bad mods. I recently found out Kijiko's Eyelash Remover makes skeletons have doll heads. It seems so benign, and yet, can make for a major annoyance. Also, alpha content (especially) seems to get kicked to the curb because it starts to look like, well.... I have spent countless hours frustrated with mods to get my game perfect, only for a new pack to come along. Merging files that aren't related crashed my puter so I just avoid it now.
Here are my recommendations:
Backup your saves, trays and current unmerged mods (if you can, to an external drive). Play only the current save, cull your tray and mods, and only merge say, meshes and their recolors. That will help so that you don't accidentally cull a mesh and then get left with the checkered face and missing body of nonsense that can happen.
Certain mods are high-poly and can really wreak havoc on your game if you use a lot of them at a time. Keeping script mods up-to-date will also make you happier. Run batch fixes in sims4studio and delete the batch backup folders that are created ( you have backups of those original mods already, right?)
Clear your computer's cache - your browsers can generate a lot of data on their own. Clear your computer's storage or defrag (depending on your windows version)
Also, if you want, you can upload your mods folder (or pictures of your mods folder) and I can take a look and see what I can do to help (no biggie if you don't - you can send me a PM with a link and I can get back to you in a few hours - sometimes fresh eyes helps). I do NOT keep mods, I do not judge, and I can (maybe) fix, re-upload for you and you are on your merry way. I have done this for a few others, because I really want peeps to have fun with their games - like I do most of the time. I am happily culling now, but my computer runs well (until it doesn't because I do not follow my own rules).
Finally - it may just be that your computer's configuration needs to be updated. Drivers updated? Graphics programs configured? Background processes turned off that are not needed?

here are some of my faves: plumbobteasociety.tumblr.com/ - both collectively and individually, you do NOT want to miss this site. peacemaker-ic.tumblr.com/brazenlotus.tumblr.com/jenba.tumblr.comohmysims.tumblr.com/Here at Sims4Studio: sims4studio.com/search/results?where_board_subboard=33 I check this everyday for amazing content. Be aware that some creators use adfly. Lehniad has fantastic harvestables and custom foods. Love Pinkmuffin's Kingdom, Renorasims, Orangemittens, Jcope, to name a few. renorasims.tumblr.com/simplistic-sims4.tumblr.com/nolan-sims.tumblr.com/www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=9863720 LOVE!! Modthesims will always be a fave, and check out HellFrozeOver's base sims for download. Icemunmun's harvestables. industrisims.tumblr.com/thingsbydean.tumblr.com/deetron-sims.tumblr.com/This is by no means a complete list, but I think you will find a lot of fun stuff and a great starting place. The majority is maxis match or awfully close. I have some alpha, but am slowly culling because it doesn't always stand up to new packs and patches. and, if you don't have it yet, you must have MCCC by deaderpool. Must. If you have any more questions, or need technical help, just ask.

what kinds of mods do you have in your game? Do you use MCCC by deaderpool? I would start by taking all mods completely out, and managing your households. You can "unheart" households you don't want to add to your sims count - I have found that over two hundred sims has made *my* game crash. I cannot speak for you, but I do recommend it to save yourself some frustration.
After you remove mods, clear your cache files in the documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder (they end in .package) and they are safe to delete. Start your game and see what you see. Don't save your game - if it is exactly the same, you can try repairing it via origin.

dessertbunny - RTF - the cops are part of that mod. I had to take it out because my sims were going to restaurants and all the waiters were shooting at everything. (gotta love that mod though, it is flippin' amazing!) I took out Cmar's most recent female mods for nipples (the only one I use - I don't use the male mods for females) and also had to take out Luumia's tit-e mods as well as the smoothish skins - and that seems to have worked where my sims don't bathe in clothes, or my male sims had missing lower halves (??) - I also had to take out BPS fashion career as that was giving me LE's at the same time. Cmar's remove underwear fix seems to be working well though, so I kept it. idk. my brain gets tired of having to repeat the same things over and over. Okay - I figured out my problem - I was using Bienchen's festival mods which fixed the festival outfits - and using the tourist overhaul mod - and I removed those and now my sim guys are wearing male clothes again. Seriously, laundry day seems benign, but no. it is not.

@ Dessertbunny -
I was having an issue as well. Do you have laundry day? I swear it messed up a couple of things. CMAR has a female and male remover of underwear - those mods are good. I did have some issues with some other body mods - by Luumia and CMAR that had to do with body details that stopped working properly. My sims were BATHING (!) in party outfits that were not theirs, but showering nude (whaaaaa???). Or my sims lower halves disappeared.
I am not sure if I can post the explicit details, so PM me if you want the specific mods.
Yes, I too did batch fixes on all my CC. I religiously do that and was doing that to fix my game because of these issues - to no avail.
I would also check any script files you have - if you play WW, and MCCC make sure those are updated properly and matched to your game.
In addition, the amazing mod by Sacrificial (Road to Fame) was causing some outfit issues. I let him know as well.
If I can offer any further assistance, please let me know.

I find myself having to fix tags on a lot of cc - such as re-categorizing items that are checked as plants that clearly are not, formal gowns that would not be good swimsuits, and the like. I wish there was a way to see what items were categorized as: such as searching for all items marked as swimwear, or plants, or clutter to see if they are properly categorized. My current method is writing down or taking pictures while I am in-game but not all cc is in English, or properly tagged or described. Thanks!!

I had a question about batch-fixing in general - I would like to start creating content and I want to understand something about the fixes. When I go on downloading sprees, I run the batch fixes for everything before I play to make sure I have no issues - are batch fixes like a bandaid to make something playable, or do they fix something in the package file that makes it truly fixed? Sometimes when I run the batch fixes (like say, mirror tuning) the same files pop up in my backup folder as being fixed.

you can check out modthesims for script mods that seem to be causing errors. Basically, I took my script mods folder out of my game and everything else works fine. Previously, I was having an issue where CAS was non-functioning, or, if I bypassed CAS, the game would crash mid-play.

mariliiso,
It may be a script mod (a mod that controls sim actions, for example, as opposed to a piece of clothing, or wall paint, etc). If you have any of those (no mosaic, no goofy walk, no autonomous tv watching) - maybe take all of those out and then run your game. If it runs well, then you can go through those mods one-at-a-time to see what may not be working.
Unfortunately, some of those mods are orphaned after creation, and they break with new patches and updates. I hope this helps.
