I have a sneaking suspicion it cant be fixed as it it seems to me EA have changed something fundamental in the construction of the windows and doors. So it's wait and hope that the original CC creators are still around and have the energy to fix all their cc or learn to do it ourselves!! Something to pass the time during covid lockdown!

Hi all! Just thought I'd give you a head's up that I fixed all BuffSumm's doors, windows and arches since I think she's retired and they were just sadly languishing there with nothing but TSR's "fix". I've uploaded them to SFS in a folder here: simfileshare.net/folder/114600/ Enjoy! xx Wow!!Really BIG thanks, really good of you to share.

It's in beta testing atm. Also, please note that it is a 64x64 lot with shells placed outside the lot with TOOL, it is not a recreation of Sims 3 open world. Everything is patreon, which I don't mind if eventually it gets realised as I'm broke. That's the bit he didn't say that it's just a huge lot. But you have it say that it's modders like yourself MizoreYukii and arnie that make the game actually something you want to play! You go and make something that people actually want as opposed to a StarWars pac!!LoL

Thanks Cidira, quite a lot to take in in your post!!It IS a strange update AND they must have known it would wreck peoples heads, lol. Maybe it is for something down the line, wait and see. I don't see EA as quite the villains that people go on about. And I did like the change they made with a config override folder in the The sims 4 folder. Actually makes certain types of mods easier.

I've just seen posts where people point out that EA's own windows don't show properly in game when reflected in mirrors.....WTF! So I know a lot of people are really wanting a batch fix from S4studio but I'm thinking that EA will have to do an update on their own stuff, so being patient might play out because you might do a patch fix that then gets borked again my the EA fix. Patients is a virtue after all!! Don't know just a thought.

People wanted to be able to add windows on top of each other (excluding me lol). So there, that is the main reason I know. As EA says, they do not support CC and they care less if our stuff gets broken from their updates. I just wished they they had done a better update job to their own windows, doors and archs cuz some of those are borked as well. That kinda goes without saying on all your points!!

Take out your mods folder and see if it loads up, it might be a piece of cc. If it is you'll have to just go through the 50/50 method of sorting through your stuff to catch the culprit. If it's not the cc the best thing you can do is right click on the sims 4 icon in Origin and do a repair. I'm thinking it's some piece of cc.

I know that with practically ever update EA causes some issue with cc but with the new update it really seems to have outdone itself. Practically all my favourite windows and doors are borked. But I can't believe it's out of total badness as they themselves would have to go back and rejig all THEIR old content as well. So does anyone know what might be the advantage to the new method? I'm just curious. Does it speed things up, was it because they were using models from another game like say StarWars and they were textured different? If anyone has an idea I'd be interested to know. Cheers.

Sounds still like bad cc, take it all out and load the game after deleting the localthumbscache.package cache file. If it isn't the cc, then maybe the game file has become corrupted, in the save folders you'll find previous saves of the game. Save your current game file, rename one of the saves to load and see if that's it If not that do a repair on the game, which is done through the origin app.

I wouldn't merge already merged files and not at 1g. That's my opinion only though, seems quite big.

Merging the packages isn'the going to stop something messing up,if your game is messing up in my experience it's a bit of cc or mod that you need to find and take out. That just my experience of the game getting messed up.😊

If you double click on them they will open in studio,if for instance it's a skirt and you see the figure with her lower part missing it means that particular item needs a mesh. To your 2nd question, same deal open in studio if you look in the tags tab it will tell you the designation of the item.
