Could someone please point out where I messed up? Even with a nude top appended the outfit's texture still shows on a sim body. I wanted to make a quick edit for my game and now I'm stuck :P. TIA!

So you were trying to create nude clothing? If so, you need to edit the Normal Map (and I believe the Specular Map too). Otherwise you will have these lines from the original item on your sims' body.

Thank you for replying! These are just pants separated from the fisherman outfit. Originally they were supposed to be pants (to be worn with a bikini top), but the top didn't show, so now it's an accessory meant to be worn with a nude top. Pictured version is without the nude top appended in blender – but every version of the pants (as pants, whole body outfit or accessory), with or without nude top appended, looks the same i.e. some of the texture is repeated on the skin at the back and the front. Except for the diffuse and spec all other maps are blank.

annabluu Sure! Here they are: package and blend. In the meantime I found those pants shared by someone – they made them as a whole body outfit (so with a torso and hands included). The upper part is fitting snugly to the torso, while mine sloppy version sticks out a bit (I kinda like it better, but have no idea how it happened). I'm still curious about the mechanics of what I did wrong (as I've mentioned before, they were supposed to be pants, so I thought the hands/torso weren't needed, but the texture was "doubled" on the skin anyway), as it's the first CAS item I ever tinkered with.

By editing or removing parts of an already existing mesh you'd have to edit the Uv map too. Since your texture is applied on the sims' body UV, you will not only have the texture on your mesh but on the whole body too. I think this tutorial should help you: sims4studio.com/thread/5055/elia-quick-sims-help-tutorial

Since your texture is applied on the sims' body UV, you will not only have the texture on your mesh but on the whole body too. Yep, that's exactly what happens. You mean uv_1, right? I just did the scaling down, adjusting and scaling back – should I data transfer uv_1 from some other CAS piece, like pants?* I bet I'm missing something, I just don't know what. [edited] * ok, I'm not sure what I was trying to accomplish with that :P.

lol no, on uv_0. where the uv is placed is on top of where s4s recognizes skin. here is a link to a template that you can import onto your uv map. boop
your uv placement is on skin, so if you were to move it to the right a little, it should be fine. after that, you can bake it to save where the texture is. then in your photo editor you can move the already made texture and place it onto your new one.
