Hey! So I was finally able to convert an object to an accessory... I think. Hahaha! I'm making an engagement ring for my sim & when I went to import the new mesh in S4S, it just kept spinning. My guess is because it had a lot of verticies (170k+)!! However, I've since lowered it to 32k by removing doubles and using the decimate-planar tool. But when I look at the vertices of the ring I'm using when converting my own, the vertices of that one is like, 5k! Hahaha! How on earth do I get mine around that low without sacrificing a lot of detail?

Hi! Even 5k for a ring is quite a bit! i'm scared to even have anything even close to 170k!
The best way to have low polygons is to start with low polygon parts when creating the mesh. After it's done.. it's very difficult to keep everything unbroken without doing manual editing.

Having things with that high of a count? I can't seen to lower it anymore than the 32k. :/

I can't seen to lower it anymore than the 32k. :/ You need to mesh low poly mesh. If you create super high poly item it's difficult to make it look decent with low poly. Usually what artists do when they create characters/clothes for 3D game they start with high poly item and then retopologize it. You can find video about retopologizing here and here, but it's a task for advanced users. There are a lot of different videos, you can search them on youtube. How does it affect the game. It can cause game to freeze or stop running if computer runs out or memory. Worst case scenario super high poly objects can burn GPU if it's weak. You can read a blog post by Simlicious here.
