I have been trying to create a recolor for three days now. I tried following Bakie's youtube tutorial, but couldn't figure out the instructions for editing the picture using Gimp. Then I tried editing the picture using Gimp again and when I opened Gimp, there was no toolbox, just the window you place the image into to be edited. So I decided to try to use a combination of Windows Paint and fotoflexer and save the image as a png, then import it to Sims4Studio. My result was definitely NOT the picture I had wanted. It was a large blue and red square with a black question mark. I'm guessing that I MUST use photoshop (which I don't have) or Gimp (which I can't figure out how to use or even find the toolbox panels that are supposed to be part of the program and were there yesterday but have disappeared). If that's the case, I will probably never be able to cc my own recolors. Can someone please help me? I was recoloring a base game painting of a guy playing a saxophone. But I don't remember the original name of the painting, because I somehow renamed it.

In gimp, click the Tools menu, then click on new tool box. That should bring up the too box. Or you can simply use ctrl+B
You can also get paint.net it's a free 2d image program
