I've been fixing all of Zauma's CC that I have because none of it had other LODs. The problem with her hairs was that LODs 1-3 were empty! They'd show a base game hair with 0 vertices and 0 polygons, and when trying to export them, the mesh would be blank! So, as you'd expect, I couldn't import a mesh onto these LODs, so I exported all of these alpha hair meshes, created my own LODs, and cloned base game hairs in order to fix them. Well, now, in game, they don't show up right! The parts of the mesh that are supposed to be transparent aren't! I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that I clicked, "Create CAS Standalone." Should I have clicked, "Create 3D Mesh?"

I exported the LOD0 and made LOD adjustments of my own, but when trying to import them, they wouldn't go because, since the other LODs had no meshes, I couldn't see the cuts I needed. I even tried giving them the cuts of a base game hair, and NOTHING would import! Zauma is notorious for not making other LODs or morphs for her stuff, which in my opinion is really annoying, but anyway, how do you make the alpha hairs into glass? Is it the "Glass Shader (CAS)" under Tools?

Okay, I have a similar question! I made a couch that's supposed to look like a plant, so I added flowers to it, but they also use an alpha. These are also not appearing transparent, and the only shaders I see that I can edit are the two "Dropshadows" it has, and changing them obviously doesn't work. There's something called "Phong," but it doesn't allow me to change any shaders. How can I get my flowers to show up properly?

CAS objects and BUY objects act different as far as transparency go. The only way to have transparency in CAS is by changing the shader to glass. Objects have 2 different transparencies. Glass and Alpha transparency. Plants have alpha transparency by default but with regular objects you'll have to enable it manually. Before trying to enable it i suggest you look for a base game couch that has transparency enabled already. I think one of the outdoor benches has it, then you only import your mesh into that package. If you can't find one then read this tutorial. It was done with an older version of S4S so the options might not be the same.. but it's pretty similar. You head over the warehouse and you'll need to do this on all MODEL AND MODEL LODS. I suggest doing this with 1 swatch or you'll have extra work to do since you'll need to manually change things on all swatches. So this applies to all MODEL strings. Click MODEL, change to DATA tab. Lods (edit items) / scroll through all detail lods until you see Meshes (edit items) / Phong (use the side bar search to look for Material and pick entries (edit items). For ALL variantiDS change go to material (edit items) and change alphathreashold to 125 and transparency to 1. here's a general screenshot of the options you have to pick depends on each package..

The tutorial didn't work, but cloning the bench did! Once again, thanks for your help!

No problem! if you want to share the package that didn't work i can take a look and see if something is missing just for the sake of knowing what's wrong. But then again, it's always easier to clone something that already has transparency by default
