I tried following the tutorial that uses marvelous designer to create the mesh, but whenever I import the .obj archive from MD to Blender half of it is missing and I think it is becausethe UV map area is too small for my mesh

select the whole back that is missing in edit mode. then go onto your left panel and select the tab that says shading/uvs. then click flip direction.
if you don't want to do this every time you import something from md, in md you have to flip the fabric horizontally.
