I've searched in vain for something that allows the addition or replacement of the songs/music being able to be played by sims on various instruments... for instance, I'd like my piano-playing sim to play lots of Chopin pieces, or my guitar sim to play Spanish classical. I'm happy to try and make a mod to do this, but I'm stuck at trying to find out where (or in which XML/script files) these songs are predetermined, and where they're stored in the base data. Would really appreciate any pointers or guides to start me off in the right direction... TIA guys  |

I've actually figured out how to do this, unfortunately its a tedious process that requires you to change some of the game's .xml script files. But I can share the song mods I created with anyone who is interested. They are .package files you can add to your mod folder and play on your guitar in-game. I've got led zeppelin, Lana Del Rey, Nirvana, Coldplay, Slowdive... and maybe more incoming.

You can find the "Say Yes to Heaven" Lana Del Rey guitar cover here: www.patreon.com/posts/say-yes-to-lana-86695647To make sure the mod works, be sure that your sim has the highest guitar skill possible. The song (once the mod is added in game) can be found under the "Avant Garde" category, it will replace the musical jumble labeled "Song in SI". Just click to play "Song in SI" and Lana will play instead. Still working on getting the name of the song to change in-game. I've made the mod for Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but admittedly it could sound better so I'm going to do a bit more work on it. Hope you enjoy! Share with your friends  |
