you probably want to make the texture first in photoshop (it's basically like drawing a design) then you want to go back into blender and go to the material tab then click new next, you go to the textures tab also click new then click open and open your texture Then go into edit mode go over to the UV Maping area press open and open your texture press a to select all of your mesh then click on the UV maping area and press again move all areas down customize how you want it to look (press L to select one section) save import new mesh (make sure to import on all the LOD's import new texture then it should look how you want it to look like and save then move to mods folder and should be in your game!have fun!I would really like to download that to use when you are done! looks awesome! keep up the good work!

Hi! I suggest checking out the tutorials section for Build/buy items we have in the forum. There you can find a lot of useful tutorials than can help you out achieve what you want. I can suggest you specifically the following one: - How mapping works & how to map & bake a cube (part 1 & part 2) As opposed to the comment above, i highly suggest doing the UV before the texture. Once you're done with the UV, you should bake (part 2 of tutorial linked above) your texture in blender and THEN proceed to your image editor program of choice.

Hi thanks for the help, its helping me so much, can I ask one more thing please uif you dont mind. I loaded up blender today with the saved dog house and basically the texture has disappeared from the dog bed that i built around. I followed the tutorial and tried to put my recoloured texture on there but its still the same and just appears white. it aint texturing like the rest of the house

I'm on to the baking stage, I didn't think I could bake all of my layers so I selected them all and put them into one group with Ctrl + J and some of my walls of my doghouse disappeared, how do I bake if I got loads of layers? it doesn't tell me in tutorials that I'm following. Example below BEFORE: AFTER:

this has to do with compatibility issues when combining them all together, i suggest taking a full screen shot, of your blender file

Hi! Please refrain from creating new threads that talk about the same object. You already have an ongoing thread about this. I've merged both threads into one.
Do you still have problems with the texture you asked before?

I've downloaded the latest file you shared and noticed that upon creation, you start from scratch with each part in object mode creating mesh groups after mesh groups. I HIGHLY suggest you avoid doing this, instead do everything in edit mode in one single mesh group to avoid this collision between groups when you try to join them. I took the liberty of joining all your elements as best as i could. There's still some gaps here and there that you should fix. Also, i turned the house around since it was backwards. You can click 1 on your numbpad to view the object in front view. Also, i changed the uv name to uv_0 that is what it should be called. Remember to change the cut number to match the original mesh. DOWNLOAD EDITED FILE. Once you're in edit mode, you change to the "create" tab and go picking the parts you want without changing into object mode.
