First, I downloaded some standalone recolors of the same mesh here on S4S forum, because there are so many colors that I do not use and multiple thumbnails of the same piece, I wanted to put all these recolors in one so I used Sims 4 Studio *Add CAS Part Swatch* to import some of my favorite colors/textures to the original mesh, I also abused the swatches arrangement feature of S4S to kick the recolored swatches to the front of the swatches queue and also changed swatch thumb colors for better visual cue. When I loaded the game with these recolored swatches addition, to my horror, the swatches are not re-arranged as I intended, the swatches that I changed thumb colors turned duplicates. As I remember, I never had this problem with Overrides feature and obviously I misunderstood the Add CAS Part Swatch feature (I probably would never use it again)?
Now is there a way to turn these recolors to Overrides without having to manually re-import all the new swatches again? I am very grateful if anyone can provide an answer and apparently this is a problem on my behalf and not the original creator, I am sorry if this is made in the wrong section of the forum since I do not know where else to ask this.

I usually extract the textures I like or want to modify, then I can easily load them into Gimp and change the color hue or what ever. when changing the swatches make sure to import the textures you want back in (.png) for each one, any that you dont like just delete. you can do a recolor, or you can do an override but you would need to select the one you want, to create the base package you want first. it really doesn't take that long compared to the stuff I am doing. this tutorial might help export only one of each of the textures you want from the packages you have first. then create a new package and just select recolor, import the textures from the other packages that you want one per swatch (you can change them later) just add swatch & import, dont include any that come in the ea original, then do the tutorial to create the swatches. *make sure to remove all the other cc recolors from your mods folder before adding in the new single package.

Thank you for the useful pointer @luvmebby , I realize I lack the basic knowledge like creating swatch by moving the eyedropper to part of the item in the model viewer, so dumb. Do you know a good batch converter of dds to png? Sims 4 Studio only seems to accept png but when I batch export the color swatch from the Warehouse tab, it would export dds?

Do you know a good batch converter of dds to png? Sims 4 Studio only seems to accept png but when I batch export the color swatch from the Warehouse tab, it would export dds? I have never needed to convert from DDS, Gimp exports in every format I have ever heard of and its a free graphics editor and now completely compatable with windows 10, I love it, use it for everything from website creation to touching up a profile picture, also use it to recolor everything I feel needs it. but that being said, I resorted to good ole' google I typed in the words "batch converter DDS to PNG" and several programs popped up to choose from. I am sure any of them would do the job one even matches the studio here's color scheme another is completely online. the world is your oyster, crack it wide open. PS if you google it you will also find, that Gimp has a DDS plug in you can download separately there is a tutorial on how to install it to your gimp program online as well, it is also possible that the program you use to get the DDS also may have a separate plug in you can get for png. I know in gimp instead of using save as, I use the extract as to get any file format I want. png. does layers
