In step one how did you add a scalp area? This doesn't seem to be a beginner tutorial, correct me if I'm wrong? Do you know where I can find a beginner tutorial on 3ds Max and MilkShape?
Thanks

Amazing tutorial, thank you so much, but also I'm trying to make hair using only blender but I'm using Milkshape 3D to regroup to don't make the transparency issues, but it's only 30 days free, I know it's a little cheap but I can't buy it right now. Do you know how to make this kind of regroup in blender? Or it's not the exact thing that will help the transparency? Sorry for the bad english

This tutorial is not very beginner friendly... it's vague and unhelpful at times.

I really would like to know how to make alpha hair using just Blender as the 3D program.

I do not get the STANDAR option, I only see Standar Hair, Standar Surface and Standard Volume
