Hello hello, I want to be able to decorate lots with the puddles that come with the game. So I turned them into a rug/pool deco (the turtle). but in game everything shows up except the texture. I got the textures from the debug puddles and only changed the color and nothing more. I tried the dds. files and png. files but same results. I copied the mesh from the original puddles, that didn't work either. even used the texture from the deco turtle pool/rug, pasted the puddle texture in that file and saved it. still nothing. I even used base game rugs, but that didn't look right either. Am I missing something? are the textures to light? even though I use the original ones that come with the game. I've been at this for like 3 days and even went through some forum question, but found nothing so far. T_T I'm so gonna cry if it's like the most simple obvious solution tho PNG. fileDDS. filePackage.file

I am throwing in a wild guess, since I cannot open The Sims on the computer atm, but while the original puddles have a Alphamap threshhold of 1, the rug doesn't have one defined. I haven't quite understood what this number does, but noticed that it is kind of important. Also your puddles still have a turtle-shaped spec and as a passionate instance-referencer I would like to point out that referencing saves disc-space.

No problem! I was on my phone at the time and remembered about his items, that's why i suggested it.
I highly recommend cloning another item that doesn't have "pool" on its name. You can notice when rotating the rug on the preview of S4S that it clips with the coordinate lines. I believe the mesh is slightly under/overlapping the floor for the sake of working better in pools rather than floors... have you tried using the pool turtle on a regular floor?
You can clone any base game round rug and import your textures there as those already have transparency enabled by default.

Hi Sparkschy, I was wondering why you used the turtle floor decal as base as the puddles itself are already floor decals? It's true I already did the puddles, but as you're saying you want to learn how to do it, here a tip! Start all over again! then: - Choose standalone recolor - Check the "show debug objects" checkbox - Type "puddles" into the search bar - Click one of them and save - Follow this tutorial: How to unlock objects- Test out in game if the puddle is showing. - It works? Good! - Add other textures If you still can't get it to work, let us know we're here to help!

Unlocking debug items My brain just skipped that thought entirely. so smart XD lol as for why I picked the turtle...I tried it after my first attempt didn't work. But thank you for the Tut. I'll try that out :D have a good day...
