So, I'm wanting to make a mod that would add an interaction to an object. I wanted to make it to where you can add the interaction "make plasma pack" to the base game fish bowl after buying the fish without having to move the fish to your inventory. Once the pack is created it automatically moves it to your inventory. I'm not sure if this would be partially a tuning mod and a script mod or if it can all be done simply using xml.
I originally wanted to make a mod that allowed you turn all the fish in your inventory at once into plasma packs but I'm guessing that's a script based mod?
I've never made a Sims mod before and this was going to be my first experiment. I've looked into the tutorials and I guess I'm just not seeing something similar to what I'm wanting.
I guess what I'm curious about is this:
Is what I am wanting to do even possible to do using only Sims 4 Studio and XML editing or does it require scripting as well?
Thank You, Auriala

It is possible to do that without scripting, but it would require that you override the tuning for the existing fish bowl, if you were to use a script to inject the interaction to the object you would not need to alter the fishbowl tuning.
But anyways, adding a new interaction to the super affordances of the fishbowl object tuning that creates a plasma pack and places it in your Sims inventory is absolutely doable.

Basemental,
Thank you for your response. Any good references I should follow to figure out how to do go about doing this? I've tried following some of the tutorials, and tweaking them but I'm not having much luck with it. The interaction never shows up after placing it within the affordances section. I still only get the options to put the fish in the inventory or name it.

Have you made sure you are actually overriding that object tuning and not created a separate object tuning? For the actual interaction, you can take a look at the seed packs for reference in how to create items and place it in your Sims inventory. To get the ID that is used in the creation_definition you need to open the Plasma Pack in S4S, and find the Object Definition in the Warehouse, find the Instance Key, copy that value, open the Hash Generator, Paste that Hex value in the second field from the top. This will generate a Decimal Value at the top field, this is the ID you need for the creation_definition when creating the plasma packs. Hope that helps

I selected the standalone recolor option, but the tuning was the same as the original. There was only one object tuning section within the object itself in the warehouse. Unless I have to select the override option to make this even doable. I was following one of the video tutorials when I tried this, hence the standalone recolor selection at the beginning. That will help alot, actually. Thank you very much!
