Hi! Before doing anything to your blend, i had to take the chance to try and fix a bit the mesh. The normals were really broken and overall blocky and that's how it will show up in game. Here's the comparison as to how it was before and how it is now. It's not perfect since you have to go in and do things manually. You should do that on your own. Please read THIS POST to know how to set up your blend file and select it manually. For big chunks of the mesh, you hover your mouse over it and press L to select it. To smooth the mesh you REMOVE DOUBLES. To make the edges sharp (Sleeves, collar..ect) you EDGE SPLIT (ctrl+E / edge split). HERE'S THE MODIFIED FILEPlease read the following in regards to your project: - WEIGHTS: Since you're NOT using blender 2.70, you're required to do the CLEAN step explained in the WEIGHT TRANSFER TUTORIAL. - UV: You've moved the arms of the clothing to the extra parts space. There's no need to do this, you can move both sides to where the arms should be (don't overlap with the hands!). Then you'll have more space to work with below. - JOIN: If you're going to use this as a top, remember to delete hidden geometry of the item you'll be joining it with.

This must not be a weighting issue? Any Ideas why this is happening? inabadromance So I was messing around tryna figure out the issue and I found this. Maybe it has something to do with the issue but idk? Also just realized that the patches move with the head

Hi there I had a look at your last .blend the one from 2 posts above. I don't see anything wrong with the weights and I don't see on this blend the weight errors you posted on the screenshot afterwards (the very last post of yours) So I am a little bit confused. Did you fix it on the blend but imported the wrong file in your package ? Cause if you import the last blend you created it should have worked. (the one named CharlieOutfit-1.blend) EDIT : after seeing a post from Feyona it seems the fact that ALL the bones are attached to every vertices with a value of 0 when not in use is causing a glitch at import in Studio. You can try this maybe : install Blender 2.70 (download is available here) open your blend, delete ALL the groups. transfer the weights again from a reference mesh using this version 2.70. Should fix it. OR do the cleaning step described in this post

Hi, I did do the cleaning step but I will try downloading the older version of blender. Any reason people prefer the older version to the newest? Zelrish

s4s was written specifically to revolve around blender 2.70. this is why it's the best choice. every other version has script changes which studio didn't accommodate with. the biggest of these changes was how the weights are transferred.

Ok I downloaded the new version of blender, opened charlieoutfit-1.blend, deleted all groups, but now I'm trying to weight it and under modifiers I don't have a "data transfer" option? Zelrish

data transfer was added in blender 2.77. you need to download that version as a zip so you can have two versions at the same time

So I should open my blend in 2.77, delete all groups, do data transfer, save, close, open blend in 2.70, and then weight? annabluuDo people really do this every time they make meshes? haha seems like alot.

yes. and yeah, people really do this. it takes me about 30 minutes to make a mesh and then run it through blender and into s4s. in the end it's worth it

I've always used 2 versions of blender, but that's just a handful of ppl. Usually the ones that have been doing this from the start and because 2.70 is the most reliable for weight transfer. You're never going to have any issues with that. I only use the newer version for uv_1.
IF parts of your mesh move the wrong way (with the head) then you've done something differently. Before re doing the weight, you have to delete all bones individually. Once there's none, you do the weight transfer. IF you don't use 2.70, then follow the clean step (which is just press the "clean" button ONCE, nothing else. If you're STILL having issues after doing this, share the latest .blend file.
