This thread is for comments about the new color palette feature.
Known issue that will be fixed in an update: an out of memory error can occur with palettes that contain a large number of swatch thumbnails. Temporary workaround until the issue is addressed: if you experience an out of memory error when working with a large palette, break the palette up into two or more palettes and import them into the package one after the other.

So, I downloaded the palette files from someone, how do I add them in? I don't understand how to add the palettes into the program or a package.

zellafy and @augold45, to use a color palette that you have downloaded from someone else, you must save it into your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Palettes folder. After you have saved the palette into that folder, the next time you use the color palette feature, you will see the new palette on the list of color palettes on the left side. Please check out the color palettes tutorial for more information about Studio's color palette feature.

Sims4Studio couldn't get any better with this palette feature that you guys added ! 😃 Thank you so much for this, it's amazing and so easy now to create CC with a big amount of swatches, I've been waiting for this since the day you teased us about this feature. I use Pooklet hair actions for every hair I recolor and it was SO much work going through 43 swatches every time haha Really thankful for this 😊 I have however two little suggestions for you that could maybe help to improve the feature : 1) The first is making a message appear when the user tries to give an invalid name to the palette. I was trying to use characters like "|" or ":" when naming my first palette and that made S4S crash when i tried to save at the end. I did this like 2 or 3 times before I realize it was the characters. And so I was forced to redo the 43 swatches of my palette 4 times because I didn't understand why it didn't work haha No big deal, but just so you guys know that some users are dumb sometimes haha 2) The second suggestion is the order of palettes in the list. Let me show you a screenshot : I created 3 palettes, but they are the same except I divided the first one I created into two sub-palettes, one called "Naturals" and the other "Unnaturals", and I would like for the sub-palettes to appear under the first one. That's way I put a "----" in the names in the first place, so that they would look like "sub" palettes. I don't know how hard it would be to include the possibility to organize palettes as we want the same way we do for swatches, but I think some users would appreciate the possibility 🙂 Thanks again for the awesome feature! It is highly appreciated 😃

Hi simserenity, unfortunately, the symbols | / \ < > : * ? and " are not allowed by the Windows OS. You are right that a message letting creators know this would be superior to Studio crashing, and this will be added. I've also added ordering the palette list to the list of features to be added.

I'm very grateful for the feature - but i'm hoping you guys might be able to implement saving the secondarydisplayindex number along with it? Perhaps with options like 'allow for random' and perhaps masculine and feminine. I recolored a whole bunch of hairs before I realized I have to go back and set the display index numbers because they weren't set with the swatches

This might be a dumb question but i have just discovered this feature since i am now retexturing some cc hairs and i have made my own palette of 40 colours, as you can guess to import all 40 hair colours then go through all 40 swatches and manually enter the hex code for each takes forever! i was hoping this palette feature would help but im having an issue...
when i import all hair colours i add in the palette and all the swatches show up correctly but then ALL the actual hairs in the texture box turn the same colour! they do not stay the ones i had imported.
can anyone help me out?
