Who knew it would be such a flog to renovate my Sim's kitchen? Now it's the window they want that's the problem. For some reason EA didn't make the shadow fit the mesh right so there is this bright area between the frame and where the shadow begins...it truly looks dreadful:
There is just no way to use this otherwise lovely window so I quick-fixed it by just editing the shadow a tiny bit in Blender.
Now it looks worthy of some curtains:
This is a default override that contains only the high LOD. I didn't notice any bright line popping up as I zoomed out so I left the other LODs alone. Note: this will not fix the weird barbell shaped shadow you get if you put the window into the house facing the wrong way. The window should have that part facing out anyway so you won't ever see it.

Can't believe how many things need fixing in the game, I haven't even noticed the buggy windows. There is this chair for example, whose shadow is glued to the floor. Looks funny when my sim sits down. Kinda like there are stains on the floor.

Really cool! Thank you so much, orangemittens! Sometimes I would love to know why EA does stuff like this to us.
It is like the cheaper doors which have these terrible dints and scratches. Why is this necessary?

I have no idea when but this appears to have been fixed by EA now and this fix is no longer needed. I've just been going through all of my mods and noticed so thought I'd let others know.
