(I understand if I chose the wrong topic for this matter, but I just don't know where it would belong.)
Greetings, S4S Community.
I have extracted a set of textures from Grand Theft Auto Online with the help of Open IV, who is responsible for helping me do the said thing. I extracted the faces, the skins, and the makeup, and I'll be moving to extract the rest of the face and body overlays, such as hair overlays, facial hair, body hair, etc.
But I have a question in mind... How can I convert these textures in The Sims 4 without any distortions? They textures are assembled differently than in The Sims 4 and I'm not sure how they'll be able to fit. Is there a topic on how to convert texture files from a different game to The Sims 4? I only have Paint.Net, but I will do my best to get photoshop, and try to adapt to it as if it were Paint.Net (I find the paint.net program easier than photoshop, though.). I have plans of starting with the skins, but I will have to make variations of skin tone combinations with two skin tones. How do you guys want me to do it? Two or more times? And what about the faces? I can share my findings if you guys want me to, or I can upload them somewhere. The textures come in a DDS format and I can convert them to a PNG format if you guys want me to.
But how can I convert the skin files to The Sims 4 and make sure they fit well? How can I even make the skin textures fit all the lifestages? Some of the face textures have faces from adults, some of them have no wrinkles, others do. Do they have to be facial overlays or something? I might try to make a generic face texture that is smooth, and can fit all the life stages, and the faces serve as some kind of overlay or something. I think I might make a 25%, 50%, 75%, 90% and 100%, and optionally, a 35% version. But how do you guys want me to do the skin textures? I tried asking the GTA Forums and I haven't received a response.
I might get my tongue twisted if I brood too much on the topic; this looks like a disassembled puzzle for me, but we can try putting the pieces together and find the solution on how the skin textures and the faces are supposed to look like. If you have any solutions or suggestions, let me know; I might try my best on making a realistic GTA-looking face if I have to go to the generic way, if that's the last resort.
