Hello,
I downloaded S4S a while ago and now I want finally try to getting it to work. I've the newest S4S version installed (3.1.1.5). I've since a long time Blender 2.77 a installed and it works fine for creating S3 CC, so I don't want to downgrade the version. I heard that S4S should also work with Blender Portable, so today I tried my luck again... and it failed. :( I downloaded Blender Portable 2.70 (to be exact it's this version here: blender-portable.de.uptodown.com/windows/download/60289). I've also changed the settings in S4S to the Blender Portable Folder. Now when I try to export a mesh, the Blender Portable App window pops up and then I get a message from S4S that S4S requires Blender 2.7 aso.. and the question if I want to download it now. What do I miss or what's wrong here? I'd like to create also CC for S4 but S4S don't let me...
If it would help, I could take a screenshot of every single step. =)
Maybe anyone has the same problem or could help me?
Thank you in advance & best regards, Pixelpfote

i suggest you download blender 2.78. i think this version is also compatible with s4s without needing to downgrade. if you'd like to keep version 2.77 you can just download 2.78 as a zip file. i've never heard of blender portable being compatible with s4s, but you can always do what you want to do in one version of blender and then take it to another version so you can import the file.

Thank you for the fast response. I saw that it would also work with 2.76 in the S4S download post (either 2.70 or 2.76). I'd also downgrade my 2.77 a to version 2.76 or 2.70 when I know that my installed plugins/addons won't be removed or so... I've never tried to up- or downgrade blender because I was happy in the moment as it began to work. I've a bit fear to change anything. xD
Where's the difference between the zip file and Idk? Is it then possible to have two versions of blender? Or is it in general possible to have multiple blender versions installed?

i believe the only way to have two different versions of blender is either by downloading the installer for one blender and then a zip for another blender. or you can download it from steam. i have multiple blender versions on my computer because i downloaded them as .zip files. i use 2.70 as my main blender, so i actually downloaded that version with the installer.

I downloaded the zip file of blender 2.76 and now S4S let me export a mesh! =) I thought that I need the portable zip but 'only' a zip is fitting and then it works. xD
I think I misunderstood it earlier - I thought there're only two varieties...
Thank you for your help.
