Greetings, Sims 4 Studio Community.
I'm trying to change the description of 4 items to replace the description made by EA with mine. However, whenever I try that, the game runs into a Script Call Failed Error and my Build/Buy mode is completely broken unless I uninstall the mods. However, Batch Fixes did nothing when I tried to fix my description-changing mod. I want to play the game with my descriptions applied to the items, but I can't unless someone knows how to get past The Sims 4's "impressive" Script Calls.
I did a post about this before, but nobody came to help. Hopefully this one can be passed along and give me the help I need to make my descriptions stable and not break the game anyhow.
If anyone knows how to solve this issue, please let me know.
-Christian

You need to create an override and change the description of items, and then put that in your mods folder and they will change

Let me see if I can follow it accordingly...

Hmmm... Let me see if I can follow it accordingly... I tried that by changing the description of the objects I want to swap descriptions with, and I'm afraid Script Call Failed happened again. It still breaks my game. Batch fixes and tuning does nothing either. The descriptions show up in the game, but they break Build/Buy Mode immediately. I'm afraid The Sims 4 Studio needs to have a patch that can fix this issue from happening since this is a new one.

What does your package contain? If you are only overriding the text then the package should only have String Table entries. I also fail to see how changing the text of a few objects would break the entire Buy Build mode. You may want to share your current package so that someone can take a look and see if you are doing anythign wrong. Also, running batch fixes on a text replacement file would be pointless since most batch fixes are to fix broken tags or tuning.

My package contains the strings of the English language in which I deleted the rest, and changed the EA description of the said item. You can try that yourself; change the description of a door with S4S, and when you put it in your mods folder and run the game, it's guaranteed to break the said mode. I'll see if I can share my objects somewhere. Where do you want me to drop them off for inspection?

The files inside are the changes to the descriptions of the following objects: King's Door, Queen's Door, Boys Only!, and Girls Only! www.mediafire.com/folder/s17fgftt3bb5a/ScriptCallFailsTo be honest, I only wanted to do an "Opposites Day" situation in which the descriptions of these doors are immediately swapped.

Hmmm... I did not delete the first string, which was the English-Language string if I remember correctly. I don't know how editing the description value can break the game. Maybe removing the "Any problem with that" caused the issue? I only edited the description value, saved, and then it appeared like nothing happened. I'm not sure how it broke the game that easily... 8-|

I've just tried all of your files in my game at once and nothing happened. The text on the doors was changed to what you had typed and my game didn't crash, freeze or do anything else. I was able to grab and place them without any problems.

I was able to grab and place them without any problems. That is weird... Is it possible that my game is different compared to yours? Mine is up to date, works on Windows 7, and the game works fine without those doors. They break my game when I put them back. Or maybe there's something going on in these doors that are causing some of their code to be the culprit... I think there's something in my game causing Build/Buy Mode to break; even with the door description mods removed. How can I find the Script Call Failed Culprit?

I think my mod has been fixed! Turns out that a mod that allows instant Sim death was the culprit.
