I just have problem after problem every time I try to make anything. And I cannot find an actual thorough guide for complete beginners anywhere. This is so frustating. I finally finished a mesh, finally got it into s4studio after having issues with importing it urgh. It looks mostly ok in s4studio now. I know there's a transparency line in front left, I'll fix that later.. Tested it in game, and it doesn't move with sliders at all -_- ELI5 how to fix. Package file

can you share any images of the problem and also the blend file? if the sliders aren't working this is most likely an issue with the uv_1. please look at this tutorial on how to do a proper uv_1 transfer.

I tried looking at that tutorial when I was searching the forums and it made no sense to me.. especially when looking at my mesh and uv map in blender because it doesn't "fit" like a puzzle piece into the uv template. I uploaded the package file in the original post which has the blend file in it, right? But here's the blend file anyway My blend file originally didn't have a uv_1, just a uv_0 ... so I clicked the "+" to add a new one and named it "uv_1" This is what I'm seeing in blender >>> Then this tutorial says I'm supposed to scale my UV to 0.5 or something, but that makes it way too small for the template there. Plus the waistband is in the top lefthand corner, and the dress skirt is in the bottom righthand corner. It's not set up like theirs are in the tutorials at all

please look at the tutorial i linked before. the uv is supposed to stretch outside of the map and in your image it isn't doing this. you need to use a version of blender that has the capability of doing a data transfer. any version 2.77+ can do this. the tutorial i linked is the easiest tutorial to follow on how to do uv_1 transfers. if you're still having questions about the tutorial, can you please explain in detail where you're stuck when referring to that specific tutorial by eliavah?

I said in the previous post that I have been looking at the tutorial you linked but I am confused by it. I know that my uv map is supposed to stretch outside of the map in the image. That is not what is confusing me. What is confusing me is the way my mesh uv has started out - which is NOT how the tutorial mesh started out. I assume it's supposed to fit onto the parts of the body template in the same places that the mesh parts are supposed to be. IE: waistband is supposed to be on the waist, legs are supposed to be on the legs, etc. .... Like so: Which my mesh isn't doing.. Like I explained above when I said the waistband was up in the top left corner. It isn't like this. Unless I take every piece and move it around like I did to create the above image. If that's the case, then scaling the mesh isn't helpful when my original mesh uv map looks like this: Is it going to be correct if I have to take every piece and move it onto the template where it's supposed to be? Is that the correct thing to do? If not, then how am I supposed to fix it?

if you're in the right version of blender and do not see the modifier, it could be because you need to click the arrow to go up the list on the list of modifiers. and it also depends on what reference mesh you used. make sure you use one that is similar to your mesh. you shouldn't have to move anything after doing the data transfer

it's probably because you didn't do a source object with your reference mesh. can you please explain your steps?

hi!I suggest re doing the transfer following the video tutorial below :
in my experience, that resizing part is totally unnecessary and confuses most users.
