I am sure this is probably something I'm doing wrong. I'm using no mods in my game. I recolor the child one in gimp. It looks great in the studio and even when I pull it up in the game. But as soon as I place it it gets back to normal mannequin. Please help. I've looked through tutorials and I can't find one that fits this problem. Very new at this

I don't think mannequins can be recoloured can they? I thought Graham explained once that they are techinically regular Sims with the AI removed. So there are probably hard coded reasons why this isn't working. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong though.

Instead Of a recolor? Like create a new mesh do you mean?

Okay, I just looked at your package. If you look at the existing mannequins, they are not quite set up in the same way a regular object is. A regular object will share tuning across all the different colour variations. These mannequins have unique tunings for each and every colour. It appears that these dictate what the "Sim" should look like once it it placed from the catalogue. So the item you pick from the catalogue is a placeholder object which is replaced by an actual "Sim" once you let go of it. That would be why they look matte before you place them and shiny afterwards. Your recolour is using the tuning for the default mannequin which is why it changes appearance after you place it down. To stop it changing you would need to create a new tuning just for your realistic colour option. The problem though is that the tuning references .siminfo resources for each different mannequin so you would need to create a new one of those for your tuning to point to and I don't even know if that is possible.
