Hello! I've been converting and mesh-blending different items for a half a year now and have not ever run into such an issue before and have been able to import files as high as 40k into S4S without a problem, but suddenly now a 20k item (I've created several of this poly count before and released them for download with no problem), refuses to import to S4S. The mesh is correctly placed on the UV template, I've tried using different accessory clones (hat, bracelet), uninstalled and reinstalled S4S, re-edited from the last known working import (not even that imports anymore..), lowered poly count to as low as I could without the whole mesh losing shape, did proper weight transfers, uv_1 transfer, checked for accurate LOD cut numbers but none of it seems to be working. Is there anyone here willing to look at my .blend and help me figure out what is going on? I've even asked a friend to try and import the mesh to see if the problem is with my computer, but they experienced the same issue. No error message pops up during importing at all, the import just cancels after a second of loading ("importing...") and the original clone remains in S4S. PS! I know the UV is in the hat section right now, I also tried the bracelet section, but moving to neither location works! Please help I'm becoming rather frustrated and I really don't want to scratch this mesh :(! Image links: ibb.co/kiTTVpibb.co/mQdvApibb.co/bOY6GUMy blend: simfileshare.net/download/643875/

Hi celinde, can you also post the package that you are trying to import the blend into? Can you look in your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Logs folder to see if there is an error message there with a time/date stamp that corresponds to the time the error occurred?

If anyone has any idea, please let me know! I've exhausted as many possibilities as I could and I just can't figure out what is going on :(.

Hi! Go into EDIT MODE, press A to select all the mesh. Then on the sidebar, change to the UV tab and press "RECALCULATE". Save and try importing again. A few things i noticed: Your hand accessory doesn't need and uv_1 (it's not even done either) so i would delte the uv_1 you currently have or it'll give you trouble. Also, it isn't completely vertex painted.. there's white parts on it. You don't need vertex paint either so you can simply paint it all white.

Hello!
Thank you for your response! The recalculation of UV seems to do the trick in terms of lading into S4S! ♥ But it also erases some of the mesh (flips some vertex planes inside out) in certain parts like the hair and claws. Does that mean I would need to redo those parts? I also deleted uv_1 and repainted the mesh white under vertex pain.

Recalculating the normals only flip them in the correct direction (sometimes it has some glitches). It doesn't actually remove any geometry. In the parts that are facing the wrong direction you only need to select and "Flip direction" (the button above) manually for those parts.
