Hi! Please share the blend file so i can show you how to fix the issue.
Basically, ALL meshes upon export get their vertices messed up. You MUST fix this each time you export a mesh, even if you edit it or not. You should set up your blend file to properly display the mesh just as it's going to look in game:
"Change to
solid material view. Then go into edit mode and disable
limit selection."
Just by looking at the picture, which is already in solid material (yay!) you can see where you need to fix the seams. Legs, shorts, top, arms. You have to hover your mouse over all these parts individually and press L to select each chunk to fix it's duplicated vertices. Example: Hover the legs, press L and "
REMOVE DOUBLES".
If you need any edge to be sharp again, the opposite of this tool is "edge split". Select the row of vertices you need to duplicate again, and press CTRL+E , edge split.

Just wanted to thank you! This info you wrote here helped me solve a problem I've had for months, well actually years. I'm a total noob with Sims 4 modding so I was glad you explained this so well. The last couple days I've found so many mods I've been organizing that were showing this problem I decided to try to fix them. After a bit of searching finally found your essential info on this double vertices thing.
Here's one of the mods I modified from NitroPanic's 'Garter Swimsuit'. I liked his swimsuit but wanted to edit the straps away from the leg area, but ended up with this weird bug after I exported the mesh.
You can see the bug most clearly on the leg area, where you can see odd seams and shading, but doing what you said fixed this problem. I have countless other meshes to fix with this, thank you again, this is essential what you shared here.
