How do I make Make an object us another objects Tuning.

I'm real new to modding. I use wishes 3.1.2.1. I use gimp for editing. I have a question. Dunno how in depth this is, but, I'm trying to learn how to mod stuff and I would like to make a deco cigarette machine act like Necrodog's cigarette vendor. How do I do this? I don't plan on releasing this without express permission of both creators, it's just for me right now.
