So I have found the elf ears I mention did come from this mod. What it does is just gets 'stuck' so that you cant remove the ears unless you replace them with another detail. Its prolly a fairly easy fix tbh, but thought id let you know I verified it with it being the sole thing in the mod folder.
I seen that you guys wont add a "easier" way for people to get spells. To be honest, this mod is not going to work if you don't listen to what people want. For me, I do not have the time to learn new spells. And on top of that we keep getting the same crystals over and over again. For me, this mod is not worth playing. Yes, some people like taking the long route and learn the spells. But others do not have the time to do that.

Hello, May you post the instructions in the thread at least? I would love to know how to utilized the mode correctly and know what to do. I think enchanting is a skill I could learn by i'm confused on how to learn it and have no idea what the spells do. As for learning the spells, I understand not creating a debug, however, learning the spells is stressful since spells are difficult to obtain at times. For example, I am a level 10 wizard and only know 10 spells so far. This is because I keep getting repeat spells that I have already learned. If you make learning spells this difficult, then people will loss interest. I don't want to lose interest. I have just learned how to conjure an insect and I'm a level 10 and still haven't learned any master spells. If you want people to work for it without a debug, can you make obtaining spells less stressful by preventing repeat spells once you learn them. That is all I ask, and I feel like it will be a good compromise. If you are against this I don't know what to tell you, I can't play with a mod that feels like work when I'm supposed to be playing for fun. Here are some examples of making this less stressful (this is just an example you don't have to do this): Create different Ley crystals representing different elements (fire, water,earth,air etc) that could be spawn at the alter depending on the emotion your sim is feeling (If you sim is feeling angry then you will spawn a fire crystal), those ley crystals in different combinations and some other ingredients (such as frogs, flowers etc.) could unlock a spell at the alter. To make it even more interesting you could to involve potion making at a cauldron to create special ingredients needed to learn spells or more. For example to learn an ice spell they need a water crystal, wind crystal, a frog and a potion from the cauldron to create the spell deep freeze on the alter. Success at learning the spell can depend on the skill level and with every skill level unlocks unique abilities. Those that want to learn spells faster could spawn the ingredients needed to make the process faster. This would be a win win situation for different play styles. This making learning spells interesting, fun and to the point instead of doing the same thing over and over and not getting results. Thank you again for this wonderful mod. The fact you are doing this on your free time to bring more exciting content is fantastic. This is one of the few mods that is saving this game for me. This is just some constructive criticism to hopefully better the mod.
Nkamran's pretty much hit the nail on the head. Again, I don't wanna come off like I'm being unappreciative or that you're not doing a good job, because this mod really is an awesome idea. But unlocking spells is just such a long and monotonous process, it almost doesn't even feel worth it most of the time. Especially when you get repeat spells. At the very least, there should be a way to just buy the crystals or books for each individual spell.
well i just wanted to weigh in that the mod is a fun mod to actually play and I don't think it is necessary to make cheats for it just because people don't want to PLAY the mod properly. Maybe , to meet in the middle add a quick skill spell ..like a grand master can learn spell that can give magic skill points to novice magic users or something, that way they at least have to play the mod properly ONCE and then they can 'cheat' for other sims.

sammoyke Again, you are missing the point of what I am saying. I have spent hours trying to play this mod properly and It not doing it for me. I can do the same thing over and over again and get no results. If you like playing it honestly good for you, but I'm still trying to get ONE spell called fire blast or combustion for a story that I am trying to play. If you want people to play this honestly it doesn't need to be this tedious is all i'm saying. To be honest, i'm bored of it already. I haven't played this mod since i got the same spell the 30th time. Playing it even ONCE honestly is not worth my time. They don't need to add any cheats, they need to make every crystal an individual object where we can easily spawn in debug mod for players that just want to enjoy the spells. When creating a mod you need to accept that people play differently and not just one way.

I...don't really think anyone here should be shaming anyone for not wanting to play a game the way it was intended to be played. If anyone cared about that, we wouldn't be playing with mods in the first place.
That said, I could also argue that one of the best things about the Sims that it usually doesn't confine you to one way of playing the game. Some play it for the challenge of micromanaging their sims. Some just play it to build stuff. Some play it to tell a story. Some are just total control freaks who want to control every facet of their virtual world. There is no "proper" or "improper" way of playing the Sims and that's a pleasantry that usually extends to its gameplay mods.
So it's nice that you enjoy the mod, as is. But that doesn't mean no one else should have any suggestions or criticisms for it. If they have no intention of hearing these out, that's cool. There's more than one magic mod for TS4 and I'll probably just stick with Triplis'. But I can still make suggestions for this one.

well i mean yall can both ignore where i said where if she wanted to she could opt to put a spell in that acts as sort of a "cheat" by quick skilling other magic users, thats fine if ya want to ignore the rest of my suggestion lol . My point was is the way people were asking for cheats, didnt want to play with the mod they just wanted to jump skimp to the fun poo, which she stated she wasn't offering a way to do that either cause she can't or didn't want to. I didn't say that you werent allowed to have criticism, i wanted her to know that not everyone was against the lack of cheats to make the mod easy and that i myself personally was not experiencing some of these game play issues with the mod and to offer some kind spell alternative for the 'cheat' so i literally only added my own two cents on the subject, i didnt subtract your two cents away by doing that. I don't think it's "necessary " to add cheats, but I could see the use of the quick skill spell. So there isn't a reason to get defensive because I gave her a little bit of SUPPORT that the mod is still enjoyed and liked as it is right now by several players (prolly several hundred players) , no where did I state, " their opinions are irrelevant" What i said seemed to be very clear, but ill say it again different, I don't necessarily agree with what you want in terms of cheats cause her mod is super fun to play but she could compromise with a spell. Its also relevant for her two know if the mod is or isn't working between certain players so telling her my mod is working , as it should be i reckon, as ive not had any frustrating or confused problems with it yet,is important too. how is she supposed to fix things if she doesnt know what is working for which people and try to figure out why? I mean I was pointing the issue with the ears a little bit ago, so this isn't about your "criticism" it was just MY feed back to her .

I'm absolutely loving this mod, way more depth then the other sorcerer mod i knew (by triplis) and they also run quite well togheter.
But i do agree that the grind is tedious especially because you get same crystals over and over again. A debug would be useful also for roleplaying purpouses (create many master mages for example).
In the meanwhile, if you want to speed up the learning process, i suggest creating a household full of mages and a lot of ley basins, then freeze motive decay and make all sims level 10 in magecraft.
Then just spam crystals.... I got like 100 crystals in a very short time. You can also write down the spells on books, then put them in a room and save the room in the gallery. That way you only have to read the books to learn the spells.
Last thing, if you use mc command center and its copy cas/dresses when you'll have your master mage you can change its appearance using that tool, for example making some of you older sims mages by copying their appareance on the master wizard.
I can't get the mod to work. I've found zero instructions on how to install. Do I extract the .package files to the Mod directory? To a subfolder? Or do I not extract the .package files at all and just drop the .zip file into the Mods folder?
nvraptor, these are the steps that I used to put the Mod into my game.
1. Unzipped the .zip file 2. Copied file Art of Magic.ts4script from the extracted folder to Electronic Arts> The Sims 4> Mods> Packages 3. Copy the remaining .package files from the extracted folder into a subfolder I created in Electronic Arts> The Sims 4> Mods> Packages > ArtOfMagic
I'm like some of the others that are having elf ears showing up automatically. I used the Tray Importer to find what was causing the issue and it's Art of Magic Valhallan_nightelfears_earrings package.
I am unable to remove ears via CAS and can only be rid of them if I delete the package entirely.

I have been excited to play this mod for a while now and I finally got spa day! But when ever i try to study the crystal in the basin i get a script error? I tried re downloading it from the link but i still get it every time. Anyone know y?
