I always get an error message that my Blender installation was not found and that I have to download it. I tried Blender 2.78 and 2.70 and changed the path used by S4S to find the installation but it does not want to work. That really annoys me.

Um that comment is referring to the SIMS 4 game app, not the blender configuring issue.

Um that comment is referring to the SIMS 4 game app, not the blender configuring issue. Studio needs the version 2.70 or 2.76 for Blender to connect with the program (at least it does in Windows). As some told you before not many people here (including the staff) use MAC as their systems so we cannot directly help. I suggest you direct to THIS web, which is the directory for Blender's old versions and find the one that suits you (OSX). Download it and follow the steps that inabadromance liked you above. The OP is talking about the Sims 4 app but I guess it would apply for all of them. If that doesn't work post again, but please be patience. If someone will know they will answer, this is not an ignoring game. There's no point if we respond with solutions that won't solve it for the sake of responding.
