This is my first time tinkering with blender. I managed to resize the object properly but it now floats about an inch above the ground. How do I fix this in blender? Working on a set for Simblreen

Here is the link to the file with the S4S and .blend files simfileshare.net/download/798921/And here is the image -- this is my first time working through the object resizing tutorial. I am resizing several of the Spooky Stuff items for Simblreen including this lamp, the pumpkin lamp, and the cauldron

Your item is floating on blender as well, it should be above the red line (which is the floor line) What tutorial exactly did you follow to resize it? That way i can understand how you did it and maybe find an easier way to avoid this. It's easier to resize object (not CAS items, depending on the item) in OBJECT mode not edit mode. To move this, go into OBJECT mode. Press G (translate, move), press Z (locks the object to the Z axis, blue vertical line), hold CTRL (this will make the movement stick to certain pixes, you'll see), and move your cursor down until you're near the red line. One of the shadow planes doesn't match the tomb, so you'll have to go into edit mode for that mesh group, select the plane and move it sideways just like you've moved previously. In this case, you press X (instead of Z) so that it locks the movement only to the red line.

Solved thanks-- I was trying to follow Bakies but am not very good at following along with video tutorials.. I may actually save this project for some time when I am not in a rush to finish projects.

Thanks-- I was only planning to make 1 or 2 little things an it has really snowballed into 10 or 12 things -- you know how that goes -- I went into the catolog with the intent of just recoloring the wicker whims set because of that horrible fake plastic wicker texture -- it turned into that plus many other things .. I am still going to do the Spooky stuff resizing because those floor lamps are just to horribly big and unuseable for Sims without a large yard and I want the cauldron in several sizes and don't want to have to keep resizing them in game .. But will do that project next week when I have more time

hehe yeah, i know how that goes. I used to create lists (literally grab a paper and write all that i wanted from the get go) and then slowly do each one and tick them off. helps me keep track and avoid forgetting things.

One last question-- does anyone know what I need to change other than the tags to make this work as a table rather than a floor lamp -- I have the resizing done both on this and the Plant o' Lantern - just need them to work as table lamps without PBox's Lamps anywhere mod or moo

I would suggest cloning a table lamp and importing you mesh into it - will save a lot of hassle potentially
