It does not need to be changed at all unless you changed the map at the same time you changed the size of the painting. If all you did was change the size then it will still work if you paste your image in the same place as EA has their image. Give that a try and if you run into more questions post again.

Hey orangemittens I am using this tutorial to resize and rotate and move a mirror. it has two meshes in it and a rig. I managed to figure it out and looks good in game. It still functions as a mirror and whenever the sim uses the mirror she stays perfectly in line with it like normal....What I am wondering is I want to write on the mirror itself, how would I do that? Ex: Like a girl wrote something on the mirror in lipstick..

Hi, Thank you so much for your tutorial, It looks pretty easy, so idiots like me could even understand that I will try it definately. My question is: I wanna make a wall high wall decal, which will exactly fill one normal high wall. What are the measures i need to take for scaling in blender? I would be so glad if you would be able to tell me <3 Thanks so much hunni

There are three different wall heights in the game and I have never determined how tall something needs to be to exactly match any of them.

Hi, OM! Firstly, Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! It has saved me so much time and frustration! However, I have a question. The mesh I am using doesn't have a shadow behind it like the S4S mesh used in the tutorial. Therefore, when I try to delete s4Studio_mesh_0 in step 20, The whole thing get's deleted. Can I just skip this step? Or will that mess things up? Here's an image of what I mean: Thanks!!

Looks like you have poster as opposed to a painting amd1016, which have no shadow plain, so yes skip that step, skip all the steps referring to that part of the tut. The poster I looked at has no shadow at all.

Thank you again for the tutorial it worked nicely. I was just wondering, what are generally speaking good values for the different LODs? I would assume there is some sort of poly-count per tile that you shouldn't overstep.

Hi anska, there are no hard and fast rules regarding poly count for different LODs. Generally, I think a good way of figuring out a reasonable number of polys is to look at an EA item that is similar to yours and let that be your guide. When I make an item, I try to keep my poly count within 100 or so polys of whatever EA item I'm using as my clone. For items that are rather boxy, the poly count should be lower. For items that have curved embellishments, it's ok to go a little higher. For items that you will use singly, poly count can go a little higher, while for items that you would use in multiple groups (like a dining chair) the poly count should tend to be more conservative.

Hi, Just wondering.. When creating a new painting do I need to manually put in all the edited/resized meshes every time if i want that size or do I create a new set of paintings? (For example: I just created a set of paintings called Navy with pictures of the water using my new meshes, say im starting another new set called Vikings with pictures of Boats will I need to import those new meshes again)I really need help!

Hi Beauman, say you have created a new painting mesh and given it eight images all related to the water, and you have named it Navy. Now you want a second painting using the same mesh but with different images of boats. The easiest way to do that is to make a copy of the Navy painting .package and place that copy into your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder. Then open up Studio and choose to make a new 3D mesh. When the thumbnail list comes up, select your Navy painting and click the Next button. To easily find your painting on that list put your creator name into the search box to limit the list to only items that you have made. Once you click the Next button, Studio will make an exact clone of the first painting except that it will be internally renumbered. This renumbering will ensure that you can have the Navy painting and the new boat image painting in your game at the same time. Once that clone is made you will see your Navy painting in the model viewer. At that point, all you have to do is replace the water images with the boat images and save. The result will be two paintings that have the same mesh, but different image sets and both paintings will be able to be placed in the game at the same time.
