I'm interested in starting my first frankenmesh, but I have a question I haven't been able to find an answer to.
What exactly is the nude mesh?
I believe that it's the skin-tight polygons over the sim's body, but what exactly does it do? Why is it there? why do sometimes you delete it and other times you leave it there?
Thanks in advance!

Hi! It's not specifically the "nude mesh" that you must have on certain CAS pieces (Top, bottom, outfit), It's the body parts that must be imported back into the package or else you're going to end up with clothing floating over nothing.
Tops are composed by the body parts mixed with the clothing. So, if you were to create a new top, you need a base body part to either join both together or add your new mesh from scratch over the body parts.
As an example, you like this top that has long sleeves but you want them short. If you shorten the sleeves you're left with a whole where the arms should be. That is why you would delete the current arms and append them again using the nude top. Then you'd cut ONLY the parts of the arms you need and delete the rest.
