I've created these boots: They're working pretty well apart from one weird glitch: when I increase the weight slider one of the boots gets thinner. I have no idea why this might be happening. The meshes for both calves are exactly the same - I literally copied and pasted from one side to the other in Blender (without mirroring as mirroring has caused me some problems with my mesh in the past). They both have the same weight paint, are vertex painted properly and assigned to the right vertex groups (b_R_Calf_ and b_L_Calf_). My uv_0 probably isn't perfect, but it works. Is it possible this is a problem with uv_1? I haven't touched the uv_1 map as I don't really know how it works, which means the file has the same uv_1 map as the original EA mesh which I replaced with my new mesh. Does anyone know what might have gone wrong or how to fix it? Thanks in advance

hi! I'm not sure what type of modifications you did to the mesh but both weights and uv_1 shouldn't be done manually for this type of item. you have to follow these guides using a similar mesh as reference: - weight transfer: sims4studio.com/thread/81/weight-transfer-blender. (I suggest you do uv_1 first and test in game) - uv_1 transfer: . also, your boots are overlapping with the pants. you need to come a pair of boots that mold and go over the bottoms to start with. then use that as a base. remember to match meshgroups and cut numbers. sims4studio.com/thread/10/tutorial-using-sims-studio-accessory.

Hi! I probably didn't make it very clear but I already transferred the weights rather than painting them manually.
It turns out uv_1 was the issue here and the tutorial worked perfectly, thank you! Also you're right that the boots would probably look better if I made them a bit wider. The cut numbers are working ok but the mesh is clipping into the trousers a bit at the top.
Back to editing my mesh again I guess. Thanks for your help :D

oh great about the uv_1! i'm glad!. Thing is there're boots that are made specifically for hiding part of the bottoms. That's why you should clone those instead. Making them wider isn't going to hide them.
