Hello,
I have done a lot of recolors in the past for TS4, but this is my first time attempting a new mesh. My 3D work is usually for 3D prints (using ZBrush and Rhino), so I haven't had much experience with making uv maps from scratch.
So, I've made the mesh and imported it into blender, but now I don't know where to start. How do I get it to show in S4S? I think I'm missing a step somewhere - nothing happens when I try to import the mesh into S4S, so I'm obviously on the wrong track.
What is the outliner supposed to look like? Do I need a texture right away?
I am admittedly having difficulty understanding the written tutorials - are there any video tutorials that may help? Most of what I've found in a video format is about frankenmeshing, but I don't understand how to apply that to a completely new mesh. I tried uv mapping in zbrush, but honestly, I can't wrap my brain around it, so I went into blender to try that method and have become a bit overwhelmed.
I'm using Blender 2.7, but can't find some of the menu options outlined in the tutorials, too.
Here's the mesh in Blender:
Basically, I have a mesh, now what?
