Hi everyone, I am relatively new at recoloring Sims 4 cc (mainly clothing), and I have successfully recolored alpha hair several times in the past but when I tried to do it today, even though I have made over a dozen different new colors, I can only select the first recolor in the group in the game. If I click on the other colors, it doesn't change. I've tried with multiple cc hairstyles created by different artists and even picked one I had successfully recolored before but other than the first recolor it is not working. Does anyone know what I am doing incorrectly? I did the batch fix in TS4 Studio and that didn't change this issue for me. Thanks so much for any help you can provide! Kaybee

Please provide at least one package that is causing you issues so someone can have a closer look. Thanks for your help, LuvMySimz Okay, I am feeling like a massive idiot but where can I find the attach file option? All I can find is create link, email, insert image, insert video and insert user link.

You have to upload the package to an online file hoster like OneDrive or Dropbox and then copy/share the download link and paste it here. So as you can tell, I am not the most computer savvy person but I think I created a weblink through Google Drive below (please let me know if you can't see it). Thanks so much for your willingness to help! drive.google.com/file/d/1p1StHlj-rwf2NNriddDIJcdu1pNY901I/view?usp=sharing

Hi kaybeecee69 , I tried your recolor and the base mesh in my game and haven't located the reason yet but your recolor can't seem to reference the mesh properly. I'll compare it with my recolor packages to see if something stands out.

I still haven't figured out how yours is failing but I was able to use the same base hair and create a quick recolor with three swatches. I used this tutorial but didn't get fancy with thumbnails etc, just a proof of concept.
Maybe someone with more experience with standalone hair recolors can add more insight?

Thank you, fufu508! I will follow that guide next time just to make sure I am not missing something next time. Have a great weekend!

Hi kaybeecee69 , I looked at your file this morning. The problem is that you did not give each swatch a color/name. All swatches are tagged only "Grey". Plus the Age Approbiate section is only tagged for "Elder" You have to change the color swatches, example: make red for red hair and tag the swatch color "Red" not grey. I know that the mesh which you made your recolors from has tagged all the swatches just in grey, but from my experiences this can lead to problems when making recolors. I gave all your grey swatches a color (using the Eye-Dropper tool right-click on the swatches), and corrected color tags, and also tagged them for Adult, Young Adult, Teen, and the hair swatches now work fine in my game. I also deleted the double swatch/hair that you have probably eccidentally added twice Thank you so much LuvMySimz! I used to match the color of the cc with the swatch but since most my recolors were cc clothing I got lazy and stopped doing it. I didn't realize that it could cause problems -- I will definitely resume matching the swatch to the content from here on! And I totally missed the fact that it was tagged for "Elder" only (duh on my part!). Thanks again for your time and help!
